Selene's POV

The Hall of Alphas had never felt so silent.

I stood at the center of the massive chamber with both hands resting against the stone table, staring down at the map of Lunaria while the seven Alphas watched me with expressions filled with uncertainty and fear. The news Rowan had given me had changed everything we thought we knew about the Shadow Queen, and the possibility that something older and more powerful had been waiting behind Nyx made the victory we had celebrated feel almost meaningless.

Torben was the first to break the silence.

"You're saying the Shadow Queen was created by this Night Mother?"

I slowly nodded....
