CHAPTER 6 I'll Be Back For My Mate

CHAPTER 6 I'll Be Back For My Mate

CORA'S POV:-

I was crying silently over my fate that had been cruel to me since I was born. I suddenly felt someone grabbing my hair and pulling them aggressively. I cried loudly in pain as I was dragged away from Roden's bedroom door. I didn't even get a chance to look at the person who was dragging me. They dragged me out of the mansion and all the way towards the gates of the pack land. I was pushed out of the pack land. As I sat up on the ground, a bag collided with my face, making me fall back on the ground. "Cora Wulfric, Alpha Alvin has banished you from our lands. Now get the fuck out of this pack and never show your face here again." I heard the beta of the pack, Calvin yelling at me.

I stood up on my feet and looked at him. He looked like he was going to kill me. But he kept himself calm. Maybe, Alpha Alvin ordered him. "Get the fuck out of my sight, you fucking whore. If I see you again around our pack land, I will rip you apart. It is taking me everything I have to control my wolf. Just get the fuck away from our land." Beta Calvin roared at me angrily. I gritted my teeth while staring at him. He had been the very person who made my life a living hell. I grabbed my bag and turned around to leave those lands.

I stopped and looked at the sky. "Just because I am going now, doesn't mean it's over. I still haven't rejected my mate. I will come back for him. And I will make sure no one would be in my way. You can control our lives for now. But in the future, I will return with absolute power. A power that would make you all step out of our way." I spoke in a low tone, making sure Beta Calvin would hear me loud and clear. Beta Calvin was growling at me as I walked away from them. I hung the bag on my back and walked away. I had no home. I had no pack. And I didn't need any Alpha in my life either.

I no longer had any wolf inside me. I was part of the human race. But of course, I wanted to know more about my father. I wanted to know who my father was. And I wanted to find him. I had some questions to ask him before I would leave the werewolf kingdom for good. I sat down in the middle of the forest and pulled the pendant out of my bra. That's where I had hidden it. So I wouldn't lose it. I tried to look into the pendant but there was nothing on the pendant that could tell me about its owner. I looked at the back of the pendant and found a signature on the pendant. It looked like the signature of the maker.

Living at the alpha's mansion, I learned a thing or two. The stones embroidered in the pendant were ruby stones. One of the rarest stones and they were only found in the Cave Star pack. It was one of the neighbouring packs of the Yellow Moon pack. To my luck, the Cave Star pack was not far away. In fact, I was half way through. Across the forest I was in, the Cave Star pack's boundaries started. I hid the pendant back inside my bra, grabbed my bag again and started walking towards the Cave Star pack's gates. I had no idea whose signature was on the back of the pendant. But of course, if they traded with the Cave Star pack, I would learn about the maker of the pendant.

I entered the Cave Star pack. The guards check me. I had nothing to hide from them. I showed them my bag without any hesitation. They let me go pretty quick. Without wasting any time, I went in search of any of the pubs I could find. With a piece of charcoal, I was able to trace the signature on the back of the pendant on a clean piece of paper. I couldn't show the pendant to everyone. I needed to be sure that the person looking at the pendant was not greedy. It was the only thing that could take me to my father. That's what Alpha Alvin had told me before I was banished from the pack.

If the pendant was actually connected somehow to my father. And there was a slightest chance of me ending up finding my father just with the help of that pendant, I was willing to take the risk. I wanted to face him and ask him all the questions I had been holding in all my life. My mother never actually said anything about my father. Not even when I questioned her about my father. She was always angry and defensive about the topic of my biological father. As if she hated him. I wanted to know the reason why she was always like that. I went across almost ten pubs. But for some reason, I didn't get the vibe like I would get any information there.

I stopped in front of the eleventh pub. I saw a bunch of sober people going into that pub. Which was normal. People go into the pub sober and get out drunk. But I saw a few sober people coming out. It meant that the kind of pub I was looking for, I found it just in time. Taking a deep breath, I stepped into the pub. I walked straight towards the bar counter and showed the paper with the signature imprint to the bartender. He looked at the paper and then he looked at me. "I am looking for a jewellery maker. The one who signs his pieces of art. I need to know about my father." I asked the bartender in a low tone.

He carefully looked at me from head to toe. Then he signalled towards a table settled in the corner of the pub. My eyes followed his pointed index finger. I found a tall old man seated in the corner, drinking as if it was his last day. I thanked the bartender and walked towards the old man. "Are you Reese Putin, the royal jewellery maker?" I asked the man the bartender had pointed towards. As the signature on the back of the pendant was pretty clear, it was not a challenge for me to make his name out. Hearing the name, the old man looked up at me with a confused look on his face. He actually looked surprised to hear that name.

I looked at the piece of paper to confirm the name again. I was not surprised at all when I found the same name on the paper. Reese Putin was written on the back of the pendant I was given. There was no mistake. "I haven't heard that name in the past few decades. But it's okay. I can talk to you in his place. What brings you here, little girl? Who are you? And why are you looking for Reese Putin?" The old man asked me in a low tone while staring at me from head to toe. He didn't look like the pervert type. But that anonymous look in his eyes made me shiver. I felt a little awkward to be around him.

I couldn't do anything. He was the man who could have told me something about the pendant. I was lucky enough that not just the Ruby's were from the Cave Star pack, but the pendant was also made by one of the jewellery makers of the Cave Star pack. I was not sure if it was appropriate to call it a lucky day. Since it was the same day my mother died, I was rejected by my mate and then, I was banished from the pack as well. I couldn't call it a lucky day. But suddenly, it started to feel like my fate was being a little too humble towards me. Which was actually a miracle because my fate had always been cruel towards me.

Ignoring everything, I focused on the reason why I was sitting inside that pub in the first place. "You are not Reese Putin? I wanted to have a word with Reese Putin? I need to know something and only Reese Putin can answer all my questions. Please tell me where he is. I will go and meet him." I replied to the old man in a low tone.

"Reese Putin was my grandfather. And he died about half a century ago. But, you are lucky that you found me. I am Rico Putin. And I was his right hand. So I know everything about him." The old man introduced himself to me. Maybe it was my lucky day. Or maybe, there was a storm waiting for me.

Hearing his name, I pulled the pendant out of my bra and placed it on the table, in front of Rico's eyes. "Hello, Rico Putin. My name is Cora Wulfric. I am here to know about this pendant. Can you tell me, for whom your grandfather might have made this pendant? I will be very grateful to you if you can tell me anything about this pendant or its owner." I spoke while looking around. I just felt something in my gut. Something like I was being watched. But to my surprise, there was not a single pair of eyes staring at me. Shrugging my shoulders, I looked back at Rico who was examining the pendant with wide eyes.

"Holly shit! Where in the hell did you get your hands on this shit? Do you have any idea what this is and to whom it belongs?" Rico asked me in a surprised tone. With an annoyed look on my face, I snatched the pendant from his hands.

"It belonged to my father. That's all I know. I haven't known or seen my father ever in my life. I need to find him. So I came here looking for the jewellery maker who made this." I replied to the old man in an annoyed tone as I hid the pendant back inside my bra. I couldn't risk the pendant being stolen from me. It looked expensive and anyone would want to have it in their hands.

Hearing my response, the old man hit his head three times with his hands. "What the fuck are you doing here? You need to get out of this place. You are not safe here. Hell, even I am no longer safe here. You have no fucking idea what that thing is." Rico said in a low tone. He was trying to keep his voice down so no one would hear a thing but we were between werewolves.

"What do you mean? What is this thing? Whose pendant is it? Just tell me. I swear, I will leave once I have known about my father. I don't want to harm anyone." I replied to him in a determined tone. I just wanted to meet my father. I was impatient to meet him. I couldn't help but think if my father would love me.

Hearing my response, Rico started shaking his head. "No no no! You don't understand. You are the one who is going to be harmed. You stepped into the Dan of death and you brought the axe with you. This pendant belongs to the Lycan King Hugo Adamson. The sole rival king of our King Edric Turner. If anyone around this kingdom found out that you are King Hugo Adamson's only heiress, they will take you to king Edric. You have to run for your life." Rico whispered while looking around. Hearing his words, my eyes widened in horror. I couldn't believe it. I was the daughter of the crazy old King. And I lived all my life in his rival kingdom.

I quickly grabbed all my stuff and ran towards the door. I had my answers. I knew where I was supposed to go next. It was better to run before I would get caught. I stepped out of the pub and gasped loudly in surprise.
