THIRD PERSON'S POV:-

Two guards were holding Cora by her arms, dragging her towards the alpha's office. She was wearing a white gown to cover her body. Her whole body was sticky red with the blood of the people she killed. The guards threw Cora in front of the Alpha and left. Cora didn't dare to look up or even raise her head. She was sobbing quietly while her forehead was kissing the dusty ground. Cora was confused because she had no idea what happened. She was unaware of what she did the night before. She went back home in the morning to look for her mother but the whole place was empty. She wanted to know what happened to her. Because all she remembered was the unbearable and her wish to die right there.

The Alpha walked over to her and knelt down on the ground. He grabbed a fist full of her hair and pulled her head up so he could look in her eyes. "I thought you told me last night that your wolf hadn't woken up. And yet, here you are, drenched in the blood of more than just one person. You had the audacity to lie to my face, you low life bitch!" Alpha Alvin roared at Cora angrily. He then pushed her head back on the ground. Her forehead collided with the ground so hard. But Cora didn't even feel a bump on her head. It was a little miraculous but Cora had more than one problem to deal with at that moment.

She hardly even gave a thought to that. She was terrified of the fact that Alpha could kill her because he thought Cora lied to him. "Alpha! I swear upon the powers of the Moon Goddess, I have no idea what happened to me. I don't remember why I was in the deepest part of the forest. I can only remember being in pain. It was unbearable. I thought I was dying. I don't think I shifted. I can't even feel my wolf." Cora replied to Alpha Alvin in a trembling tone. She kept her head on the ground and shut her eyes closed tightly. She was already terrified of everything that was happening. And the alpha's words and his tone was horrifying her further.

Alpha Alvin walked back towards his seat and sat down. He was thinking about something. As if he was considering what Cora just said. As for Cora, she was trying hard to remember what happened to her. She remembered going to her mother's house with flowers and a ring. Then she only remembered being in the forest, fighting for her life. And in the morning, she found herself bathed in blood, lying in the piles of flesh and bones. "Alpha! Please call my mother. I am sure she might have answers to all your questions as well as my questions." Cora added in a pleading tone. She wanted to see her mother and ask her what was happening to her.

Alpha Alvin gritted his teeth as he heard Cora. Then his eyes widened after a moment. He realised that Cora was indeed telling him the truth. "You really don't remember what happened last night now, do you? And your wolf, if it was not your wolf, then did you do it all by yourself. If you actually would have gotten your wolf last night and you would remember what you did, you would never have asked me to call your mother here in the first place." Alpha Alvin replied to Cora in a low tone. Cora was a little shocked after hearing him. She couldn't understand what he was talking about. She finally gathered enough courage to raise her head and look at Alpha Alvin.

Cora and Alpha Alvin were staring into each other's eyes. Cora was trying to figure out what he was talking about. While Alpha Alvin was trying to feel if Cora actually had a wolf. To his surprise, he didn't feel the presence of another wolf inside his office except for his own wolf. "It looks like your mother did what she was supposed to do. I am sorry to inform you that your mother is no more. While doing something that was necessary for all of our survival, she gave her life. I can sense her blood on her. Either it was a rogue who tried to sneak in or your wolf that appeared for a while just to kill your mother." Alpha Alvin added in a low tone.

Cora's eyes welled up with tears as she realised what actually happened after she passed out. Alpha Alvin walked towards the safe in his office. He punched in the pin and unlocked his safe. He pulled a box out of the safe and walked towards Cora. "Your mother did everything she could to save you from your father. But in the end, I guess she knew she was going to give up her life while trying to keep you away from that man. I am sorry, Cora. There was nothing I could do to save your mother this time." Alpha Alvin added further as he knelt down on the ground. He offered Cora his hand to help her back up on her feet again.

Cora was hesitant for a while. Then she placed her hand on Alpha Alvin's hand. Alpha Alvin pulled her back up on her feet. Cora broke into tears as she remembered what made her go back home and look for her mother. She remembered shredded pieces of clothing scattered around the whole place where Cora opened her eyes again. She remembered her mother in the same piece of clothing the time she saw her in the forest. She remembered everything in pieces. Nothing was clear to her. It was like someone messed up with her memories. And she couldn't remember all the things she had done in the darkness of night. She couldn't believe it that her mother was no more.

Alpha Alvin didn't stop her. He let her cry. He let her pour it all out of her. A few minutes later, Alpha Alvin opened the box inside his hands and pulled the necklace out of the box. Alpha Alvin showed Cora the necklace. It was a big circular gold pendant, about six inches radius. There were moon carvings on the four places on the pendant. If held horizontally, the moon carvings almost look like four sides, east, west, north and south. There were two crescent moons carved on the Left and right sides of the pendant. A full moon on the top and in the bottom, an eclipsed moon was carved on the pendant. The pendant was beautiful even without its other accessories.

The outline of the pendant was made of pure ruby stones. Little diamond shaped crystals all around the pendant made it look stunning. And in the middle, a moonstone was pasted. It was oval in shape. Cora's eyes blinged as she looked at the pendant. When the chain of the pendant was made of gold. "This is the only thing your mother left in my hands. It is also the only thing that could take you to your father. This necklace is the only thing that can take you to your father. And your mother left it in my hands the day she arrived here." Alpha Alvin spoke softly as he placed that huge pendant in Cora's hands. Cora rubbed the pad of thumb on the surface of the moonstone.

Cora's eyes blinged again as the moonstone changed its colours as soon as Cora touched its surface. With a nervous look on her face, Cora raised her gaze back towards Alpha Alvin. She was confused why Alpha Alvin was giving that to Cora. "I think you have a perfect idea why I am doing all this. Let's cut the chase, Cora. Your mother was the only reason I allowed your stay here. You have been nothing but a liability for the rest of my pack. But your mother made a promise to always keep you under control. Now that she is gone, I can't take anymore risks." Alpha Alvin answered the question he saw in Cora's green eyes.

Cora gulped hard as she heard Alpha Alvin trying to explain his situation to Cora. She had this feeling inside her chest that one day, her future could be nothing but living a life as a rogue. And she had always been terrified of that feeling. She never knew that time would show her worst nightmare coming true this quickly. "Alpha Alvin! Please! Don't do this to me. What will I do? Where will I go? I don't even know self-defence. How will I protect myself? How will I survive in the world outside of the pack when I hardly stepped out of your mansion?" Cora tried to reason with Alpha Alvin as she already knew where that conversation was going. It was shocking for her how she actually figured it out.

Cora was actually the dumbest person in the whole pack. She hardly made any progress in the academy. She was unable to understand whatever her teachers taught her. She couldn't understand why all of the sudden, she started to figure things out on her own. All her life, everyone around her was annoyed with her because they always had to explain everything to Cora thoroughly. "I can see that you are already starting to get everything. I don't care what you will do or how you will survive. I can't keep you here since your mother's died. You murdered your mother. I can't keep you in this pack. I can't afford you running around, killing everyone that comes in your way." Alpha Alvin replied to Cora in a flat tone.

While Cora couldn't stop crying over this sudden turn of events in her life. She didn't even get the chance to mourn over her mother's death. She was already devastated by the news. "I suggest you pack your stuff and leave my lands. You have already killed five of our guards and your mother. In one night, you killed about a hundred people in my land. I can't feel your wolf. But we can't assume that your wolf wouldn't show up again. I can't keep you here anymore." Alpha Alvin added in a low tone. He didn't even look at Cora's tears and the pain in her eyes. Cora fell on her knees as she knew what Alpha Alvin was asking from her.

She hugged herself tightly and cried. She wanted to stay. She didn't want to live alone the rest of her life. That's not what she had imagined in her life after all those years she went through all these hardships. It was as if the whole universe was against her. "Please! I did everything I could to satisfy everyone in these lands. You said I never asked you anything. I am asking you one thing today. Roden said I am his mate. Please, he is everything I have. Don't take him away from me as well. I beg of you. Let me be with him." Cora pleaded with Alpha Alvin while crying out loud. Cora always wanted to have a life with Roden. She dreamt of being with him, always by his side.

Hearing her words, Alpha Alvin gritted his teeth. He grabbed a fist full of Cora's hair and pulled them harshly. Cora yelped in pain as Alpha Alvin forced her to look in his eyes. "This was the first and the last time you have spoken his name from your filthy mouth. There will be no next time. I will rip your limbs off of your body if you even thought about being with my son. You are nothing but a filthy piece of shit that I accepted in my pack just because I owe your mother a favour. Now that she is gone, the favour is gone too. I can kill you right now and there would be no one to save you from me. The better option for you is to pack your stuff and get the fuck out of my lands." Alpha Alvin threatened Cora in a low tone. Once he was fine talking, he dragged Cora out of his office. He threw her out and locked his office door.
