I smiled at Jack as I was being carried down the stairs.

"That wasn't it though, I just felt it was kind of extreme," I explained to him and he nodded.

" Extreme, I get it," Jack replied, nodding his head.

" Hey" he greeted Marc who had grabbed a car key from the table and was walking out. Marc walked out without saying anything to me or Jack.

I sighed, feeling rejected. Jack seemed to have sensed that I was feeling distressed because he squeezed my shoulder and smiled at me.
