Before the gunshot, Davis had had enough toying with Myron's emotions. Seeing that he couldn't use Michelle and the kids to break Myron's resolve, he decide to finally end it.

He grabbed Myron's bruised jaw and forced his gaze.

“After everything you've been through, Myron, it's sad that you let love in. It has crumbled you and your destiny to be a great man.” He said.
