"Where were you the entire day?" I asked. The abruptness of my question must have shocked him because his surprised expression showed that he was not expecting that question.

"At the company," he answered, looking away and adding under his breath, "Where else would I have been?"

"Your absence was unusual, Myron and even now, your calmness baffles me."

He sighed, "I am deeply worried about Liam, Natalia. I thought prioritizing his wellbeing and then finding the criminal later would be the right thing to do. I'm sorry if I do not meet your expectations."
