Annabel's POV

I was excited to receive this message from Mr. Davis. It meant that he must have considered giving me what I requested for.

On second thoughts, I wondered why my secretary did not inform me of his messages. I scrolled through my phone and called Claire.

"Good morning, ma'am." her voice came through.

"Morning, Claire. No messages from Mr. Davis??"

"N-no, ma'am. None at all."

"When did you start lying to me?" I asked, disappointed, "I received messages from him to my private number this morning and he lamented on his messages left unattended."

"Why did you not inform me?"

"Please madam..forgive me," she pleaded with a shaky...
