Watching Casey fall apart in front of me was like a knife twisting in my chest. She sat on the edge of the bed, her small frame shaking with silent sobs, her hands clasped so tightly in her lap that her knuckles had turned white.
Every tear that traced down her cheek felt like an accusation, a reminder that I had stood there and let those people tear her apart.
