Derek's POV

Morning light sliced through the gap in my curtains, and I was myself again. For once in a long time, I could finally feel my entire body, and that was the best feeling ever.

I flexed my fingers, then my toes. The strange, terrifying paralysis that had gripped me was gone, dissolved as if it had never been.

I sat up slowly, the muscles in my back and arms obeying my commands without the agonizing resistance of the night before.

That drink someone gave me the previous night has really worked like magic, pulling me back from whatever dark, silent prison I had been trapped in....
