Casey's POV
I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling, my body exhausted but my mind refusing to quiet.
Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Derek's pale face, I also heard the council members' accusations, felt the weight of Addison's triumphant sneer.
But mostly, I thought about Eric. Was he safe? Had he made it to Derek's room? Had anyone caught him? This question rang in my head.
I sat up, running my hands through my hair in frustration. The silence of the pack house pressed in on me, heavy and suffocating. I couldn't just lie here, waiting, wondering. I needed to know.
