Emond said, almost unconsciously, "No."
Christina had a smile on her lips, but it was full of sarcasm.
Emond started slightly. "I checked Fanny's account for that day. She was really going to the steakhouse at the mall. She was coming out of the shop when she met you."
"So? “Christina wanted to laugh. "Did this prove that she had nothing to do with Grandma’s death?"
She's made that very clear. Grandma died because of Fanny's irritation, and Emond's first instinct was to defend her.
"Christina, Grandma is my real grandma. I'm more upset than you are. That doesn't mean it has anything to do with Fanny. It was just...
