The ward.
Christina lay pale on the bed, and her lips were pale as well.
She peered through the glass of the door and saw Emond standing on the porch talking on the phone, the sunlight shining through the glass on his face, framing his handsome profile.
Emond saw her awake, hung up the phone and strode in. "Are you awake? How does it feel?"
"I feel better now."
Emond looked at the people in the bed, and all he could think about was Christina's mess.
It was he, he remembered, who had rushed to Fanny and pushed her aside.
He remembered that his force was not heavy, but that he had given her a gentle push. But then he thought, she might have hit the corner of the cabinet.
He felt very irritable, and something was blocking him up.
For a long time, Christina had been a dutiful woman, and had never done anything wrong as the wife of the wolf king.
Fanny's fall could really have been an accident.
It was an accident...
"What do you want for lunch? I'll have someone prepare what you want," he said regretfully.
Christina shook her head. She didn't want to eat anything.
"How will you recover if you don't eat anything? You have to eat some anyway."
"Mr. Emond makes a good point. You must supplement your nutrition now." The doctor opened the door and came in.
When she saw the doctor, Christina sat up straight.
At the same time she looked at Emond. "Can you get me a glass of hot milk?"
"I'll get Aaron to buy it."
"I want you to go and get it." "Christina deadpanned.
"Good. I'll get it."
After Emond left.
Christina quickly asked the doctor, "Doctor, how’s my baby..."
She was nervous and her voice was shaking.
The doctor smiled and comforted her, "Don't worry, you are lucky and your baby is strong. The baby should sleep sweetly in your belly."
"Really? That's great!" Christina smiled.
The tension she had been holding suddenly loosened.
"However, in the first trimester you should be careful not to get too emotional or do dangerous things. You need to protect yourself so you can protect your baby better."
The doctor reminded her anxiously.
"Well, I'll remember that, and it won't happen again!" Christina nodded vigorously.
"When Mr. Emond returns, I'll remind him to take you for a regular check-up."
"please don't." Christina quickly refused. Looking at the doctor's puzzled eyes, she could only explain, "He still does not know that I’m pregnant."
She stroked her belly and her eyes darkened. "We're going to get divorced. I want to keep the baby. I don't think he wants it."
“So please don't tell him, will you?” She wiped the tears from her face.
The doctor sighed and agreed.
Emond came back with milk. After Christina drank it, her stomach was filled and she felt much better.
"What else do you want?" Emond asked.
"No. I want to have a rest. You can go now if you have anything else to do."
Christina reminded him when he kept hanging up.
"Well, get some sleep and I'll see you later."
After Emond left, Christina made sure she was stable enough to leave the hospital and decided to go home to recover.
In the corridor.
She saw the familiar figure and went into the next ward.
Christina was stunned and followed cautiously.
Through the window.
On the hospital bed she saw Fanny leaning against it, her face streaked with tears.
She saw Emond approach her and she put her arms around him.
She could not see Emond's expression from the side, except that he did not open his arms to Fanny.
"It's all my fault, Emond," Fanny said softly. "I think my shoes were a little uncomfortable today and I twisted them. Don't blame Christina."
There was guilt in her voice.
The man gently rubbed her long hair. "I know."
Christina turned to leave.
She went back to the villa and drew the curtains. The room was dark.
She lay on the bed and began to scold the two of them!
Leaving his wife in a hospital room with some other woman, huh!
She used such cheap means that he was too blind to see it.
What a jerk he is!
After scolding them, Christina felt much more comfortable and fell asleep slowly.
In her sleep, she heard the door opening dimly.
She was keenly aware that someone had come in.
Having a baby made her even more sensitive, and before she could do anything else, she saw a dark figure approaching her. She could only unconsciously clench her fist and wave it.
The next, her wrist was clutched tightly by someone.
The bedside lamp was suddenly turned on.
Christina squinted and saw that standing in front of her was the man she had been scolding all night.
"Do you want to murder me?" He said slowly.
"No." Christina staggered lightly, not wanting to tangle with him.
The moment of the wrong body, the man was lying in her side.
"I didn't mean to. I didn't mean to push you."
Christina's eyelashes quivered. Was he apologizing to her?
They were so close that Christina could smell him, mixed with a scent that didn't belong to him.
She thought of his entanglement with Fanny in the afternoon. Christina felt sick, pushed him away, rushed into the bathroom, and threw up.
As she started to exit the bathroom, Emond stopped her at the door. "What's wrong with you?"
"Maybe I ate something dirty." Her heart was pounding, wondering if she could convince him of this argument.
Emond frowned. "Mind your health. You always have a stomachache."
Nervously, she could only hold her stomach, "It hurts."
Frowning, he lifted her around the waist to the bed.
He knelt on the side of the bed and rubbed her belly gently with his broad palm.
Emond moved carefully and gently. It's a simple act, but it keeps her engaged.
Feeling the warm breath from her lower abdomen, she wanted to ask him, where were you in this afternoon?
But though the words were on the tip of her tongue, she did not say them.
She was afraid of hearing another lie.
Emond looked up and saw that her eyes were red and pathetic. Her heart had been knocked hard.
The next, he was kissing her.
The hot kiss took Christina's breath away. Her hand flurried against his chest and pushed him.
She was annoyed at what he took her for.
But the people in front of her didn't give her a chance to think.
Emond knows how to flirt with her. He opened hers easily with his hot lips, then hooked hers with the tip of his tongue, and she opened her mouth irresistibly.
She could only conform to his movements.
Emond licked the fluid off her lips, wrapped it around her tongue and nibbled her lips while she breathed.
Soon, Christina began to groan quietly, her arms and legs clinging to his body, trying to get into his arms.
Entangled ambiguously, they were interrupted by a rapid ringing of the telephone.
Emond's phone vibrated in her pocket and stuck to her lap as she suddenly woke up.
She jerked him away and looked away.
Emond was silent for a moment, pulled out his phone and headed out to the balcony.
She couldn't hear what it said, but she could guess who the caller was.
She withdrew her eyes, feeling ill.
When Emond returned, he picked up the coat he had left beside the bed and buttoned it up.
All he said was, "Go to bed early." Then he turned and left
"Emond, don't go..." Christina hugged him from behind as he turned around.
