Emond didn't notice it, but there was a subtle smile on his lips.

Christina felt that she had been too impulsive, and now she had to wait for the lie to be discovered before Emond threw her out of the party.

But Emond reached out and pulled her into his arms. Then, with a cold face, he told the squire behind him to throw Susan out.

Susan froze, while the attendants had already pulled her to her feet. The next thing she knew, she was being dragged out of the ballroom.
