With my legs already secured and no place to turn to, I watched with rising fear and startling clarity as they continued to step out of the trees slowly. Many of them were wearing dark masks and camouflaged clothing that protected them. That's how they had been able to get in here without being detected. There were certainly more than a dozen of them now, exempting the men that I had fought before getting caught. I hugged Daniel closer to me, feeling his little body shake against mine. He knew something was wrong, but his little mind couldn't yet grasp the level of danger we were in.
