I didn't remember how long I was out but when I came back to consciousness, I was back again in a hospital bed with an arm that throbbed in pain and a hazy vision. I tried to move but my whole body felt heavy, like I had been numbed. I forced myself up anyways, especially when the thought of the darkness and the figure came to me. I shook my head to clear my thoughts, and that's when Mirabel and Ace came into view. I looked up again, making out their clear but worried faces as they stared down at me, their faces packed with worry, and newfound relief. ...
