Chapter 29

Lyon stepped forward hesitantly, his hands hovering in the air as though unsure if he was allowed to touch her. But seeing her like that, so broken and vulnerable, pushed him past his hesitation. Gently, he reached out and pulled her into his arms, wrapping them around her trembling frame.

“I’m sorry,” he muttered, his voice muffled as he buried his face in her hair. “I’m so sorry, Kathryn. I was wrong. I was so wrong.”
