Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Oriana:

I tried to keep my distance from Shadow. Everywhere I saw him, I would go in another location. However, he was always finding me. As I headed to my History class, Shadow was right behind me. I groaned with frustration and turned to face him.

“Stop following me.” I told him.

“I’m not.” Shadow replied.

“You are and it’s getting annoying.”

I shook my head before I continued forward to my next class. When I heard him behind me, I sighed.

“Why are you following me?” I asked him.

“I’m not; I’m going to my class.” He told me.

“Then, walk on the opposite side of me or something. It’s making me uncomfortable.”

“Wow, whatever.”

He walked on the side of me and as soon as our skin touched, I stopped walking. He turned around and we stared at each other.

“What are you doing?”

“Nothing.”

“Then, why you stopped?”

“You can go ahead of me.”

Shadow rolled his eyes and walked over to me.

“Stop, okay? I’m not going to hurt you.”

I tilted my head to the side and raised an eyebrow at him.

“I’m sorry, but did you forget what you were?”

“Of course not.”

“Good. Now, you can go.”

Everybody passed us and yet, he was still there.

“Yo, Shadow!” His friend shouted his name.

Shadow held his hand out and the guy said nothing more. He walked past Shadow and not long afterwards, everybody was in their assigned classes. Well, everyone, except me. And I was never late for class before. Not once! So, when Shadow wouldn’t let me pass, I began to get nervous. I looked up in his eyes and they were a crimson color and they were just staring down at me.

“Shadow?” I called his name, backing up.

He reached down and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards a different area, farther away from my class.

“Shadow, no.” I panicked. “I can’t be late! Please, don’t make me late!”

He guided me to a certain area, ignoring my plea.

“Shadow, I will scream.” I warned him.

“And I’ll cover your mouth.” He finally spoke.

Something I was trying to avoid.

“Tiana is going to be mad at you.”

“Who cares?”

Hell, I did. He led me to one of the empty classrooms and he opened the door, pulling me in. He released, closed the door and blocked me from exiting. I looked around, worried as hell before I turned my attention to him.

“What are you-?”

“Just shut up and stand there.” He instructed.

“Excuse me? You just practically kidnapped me. And for what?”

“Shut up”

“Why?”

Shadow rolled his eyes and sighed.

“Look, I don’t like how you’re afraid of me.” He said.

“Your fault.” I told him.

“My fault? How? It’s like ever since you heard about those four deer murdered in the woods, you blame every wolf around you.”

“So?”

So?”

As we were in this closed room, I was able to finally get a good look at him. Not only was his crimson colored eyes mesmerizing, they just stared back at me like a calming pool of blood. He was taller than me, so of course, I had to look up every time when I wanted to look into those gorgeous red gems of his. My eyes scanned his build and boy, was he built. His uniform shirt hugged his body tightly, revealing the ripples of muscles on his arms and I could only imagine what I would see if he unbuttoned his shirt. Perfectly built abs, maybe a stomach tattoo? What the hell?

I shook the image out of my head and looked back up at him.

“Your kind killed those deers.” I reminded him.

“Not me.”

“Why does it matter? You’re still an enemy to my people.”

“I don’t care about them seeing me as an enemy.”

Shadow pushed off the door and walked closer to me, but I backed up.

“Wait!” I shouted at him. “Please, just wait!”

Shadow pushed me back onto a desk and he hovered over me. I grabbed his arm, trying to hold myself from going back.

“Shadow, lift me up.” I begged.

He didn’t say anything; he just kept staring at me. He inched closer to me and I backed up. Oh my god, was he trying to kiss me?

“No, Shadow.” I told him. “I never…”

“You never what?” He asked me.

“I never… I never.. Ki..Kissed before.”

He smiled and he was ready to kiss me until we heard the door open.

“ARE YOU OUT YOUR FUCKING MIND?!” Tiana shouted.

Shadow got snatched off me by two guards and they forced him back against the wall. I got up and rushed to Tiana.

“We got him.” One of the guards told Tiana.

“Thank you.” Tiana told them as she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the room.

We got far away from the room and Tiana turned to me.

“I’m so sorry.” She apologized. “I shouldn’t have left you alone. You’re not allowed to walk by yourself anymore. I’ll talk to the Principal first thing in the morning. He could’ve hurt you.”

I just nodded, but I couldn’t say anything. All I could think about was how his lips and how he was about to press it against mine. Was he supposed to be my first kiss?

“Are you okay?” Tiana asked me.

“Um, yeah.” I told her.

I heard Shadow’s voice and I turned around to look at him. The guards put handcuffs on his wrists, then another guard slapped a muzzle on his face to keep him from trying to bite anybody else. Little did they know, Shadow was trying to make a move on me.

Tiana guided me back to my History class. I took my seat, ready to get started on my work. Ten minutes later, Shadow came in and the whole class laughed at him. Even his own pack. Well, I didn’t think it was funny at all.

“Nice for you to join us, Mr. Shadow.” Mrs. Davis told him.

Shadow rolled his eyes as he made his way over to his seat. He slammed down in his chair and he turned his attention to the window.

“Are you okay?” Marianne asked me from behind.

“Yeah, thanks for asking.” I whispered to her.

“He took you? Weren’t you scared?”

At first, I was scared, but when I realized what he was really trying to do… I felt completely different. Like I was okay with the situation. Like.. I wanted him to slam his lips into mine.
