Selene's Point of View

As I stepped out of the sleek black sedan, the sound of my heels clicking against marble filled the entrance of the prominent event venue, and the cameras flashed. The aroma of champagne and refined aspiration filled the air as different discussions from different people filled the space.

As I nodded at the familiar faces of human businessmen and ladies attending tonight's charity gala, a fundraiser promoting our collaboration with the community, at least according to the invitation I sent out, I gave my most composed grin. This was more than just an occasion for me. This was a chance.
