With neon lights casting colourful reflections on wet pavement, the muffled bass of nightclub music echoing down alleys, and the never-ending drone of traffic, the city hummed along in its usual nighttime vigour. It was a city teeming with the interconnected lives of supernatural beings and humans, each playing their part in the precarious balance of coexistence.
