Sireen goes on to tell Lily about how much she is disgusting and ugly inside, a label that I should have helped her see herself as not but became the sponsor for. If there was a feeling worse than disgust and self hatred, I felt all of it now. Irrespective of how dark I was inside, I was supposed to be a light in the dark parts of her life, but I spread that darkness farther with mine. I always saw her as beautiful, but I let my hatred blind me so much that I chose to believe otherwise.
