Chapter 5 Fists Flying

Chapter 5 Fists Flying

Sireen’s POV

I sense trouble. Big big trouble.

Trevor’s face shows a worry that I’ve never seen before now, and behind him, Enzo is advancing slowly like he’s caging his prey.

“Did he touch you, Sireen,” Trevor asks again, jerking me a little by my arm, and I gasp.

It’s Enzo who replies. “Something tells me you could’ve shown this much concern to the people who inflicted those wounds on her but didn’t, so I think you’ve lost the right to ask her that question.”

I am still unable to speak as Trevor turns around to square shoulders with Enzo.

“And you assume that you have rights over her? Fuck you,” Trevor spits, staring Enzo dead in the eye.

I’m not concerned about the fact that two males are discussing rights over me like I’m not in the same room as them, but I’m worried because they both look pissed off for different reasons and like they're about to throw punches at each other.

Trevor is bulky for his age and he has alpha blood and strength, yes, but Enzo is not in second year like us. He could only be a senior, so, older than Trevor, and even at that, he looks a lot more manly than all the seniors I’ve seen in my time. If fists fly, both of them are sure to walk out with black eyes, maybe in cuffs, because it could as well take the authorities to break them apart.

That being the last thing I want to witness, I jump down from the sink and step between the heat emanating from both of them. I feel and look smaller than them, but what can I do?

“There won’t be any silly brawl in a bathroom between you two for absolutely no reason, so each of you should back off right now,” I say with as much harshness as I can muster.

Trevor speaks, still not breaking eye contact with Enzo. “I don’t trust your face, so stay the hell away from her.” Then his eyes drop to my level and he directs the same tone at me. “And you shouldn’t be letting the first man you see in a toilet stand in between your legs like that. He could be a killer for all you know,” Trevor says, and it must be the excess testosterone flying in the room, but I catch some.

My brows draw together as I turn to Trevor, holding myself back from being the first to throw a punch now. “You don’t get to tell me what and what not to do, you hear me? I can do whatever I want, whenever and wherever. You’ve made your role in my life abundantly clear, so I could as well walk out of here and leave you two to fight like animals.”

I wish I could say that I’ve forgotten all about my bruises, but I can still feel the sting, only it’s very numb. What I feel the most right now is anger, mixed with something else that I cannot place, and it’s all directed at Trevor. It’s so hot and fervent, that I feel like coke in a disturbed can, waiting to explode.

Trevor’s lips are parted and his breathing is labored, and I can only imagine the look on Enzo’s face, or the questions running through his mind. After what feels like hours, Trevor drags in a deep breath, then he takes a step backward, putting some space between him, Enzo, and myself.

I hear Enzo take a step away too, then I let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding. Turning to Enzo, I catch a smirk on his face like all of this is amusing to him, but before I can say anything, Trevor speaks.

“Leave, Sireen.”

His voice doesn’t have that ice anymore, but I don’t trust that they won’t butt heads by the time I’m out of the door, so I refuse by shaking my head once.

His face squeezes. “Do you think you would be able to do anything to stop me if I decided to uppercut his smug looking face?”

“I doubt you’d be able to get that punch in, but I’d really like to see you try,” Enzo says in response, shoving both his hands into his pockets, and my head snaps between them.

Thankfully, Trevor ignores his comment and speaks to me instead.

“I’m asking you to walk out of the door, Sireen. This is the men’s room, and you can’t be in here. Leave now before someone else joins us and you have to answer more questions,” he says, and I see the light in his words.

I look at Enzo one last time, and he’s still smiling.

“Don’t worry about me. I meant it when I said he wouldn’t be able to hurt me if he tried,” Enzo says, and I scoff.

Whatever.

They can kill themselves for all I care.

Without saying anything else, I walk toward the door and pull the handle. Thankfully, there are no boys there to ask me why I’m coming out from the men’s room, and even better, there’s no crowd to stare at my blistered face, courtesy of Kristy.

I don’t let myself think of what could be going on in the enclosed space where Trevor is with Enzo, and I try not to focus my hearing back there. I keep dragging my feet away from the school premises, hoping that I don’t draw any more trouble, and I begin to ask myself what it means that Trevor got so angry when he saw me close to another man after he made it clear he didn’t want anything to do with me…after he rejected me and stood there, watching Kristy almost tear me to pieces with nothing but an indifferent look on his face.

Shutting the many voices in my head off, I think of Camilla. I ignored her warnings again and got myself hurt because of Trevor. There’s no way she’s not mad at me right now, but I pull out my phone and dial her number, waiting as it rings to see if she’ll respond.
