Chapter 8

Chapter 8

It was obvious that I had succeeded in provoking his ire to a high degree.

My voice came out sounding nasal as I said "I'm sorry."

"You saw everything, didn't you?" Caradoc said in a menacing tone.

I saw that the knuckles on both of his hands were white.

If he hadn't been restricted to the wheelchair, he certainly would have snapped my neck in two.

I couldn't help but shake my head and say, "I hardly remember any of it now."

I gave it a quick glance before turning it off, but that was all.

"Please accept my apologies if I breached any of your personal space. The fact of the matter is that I was an anxious mess back then. I am really bewildered as to how I was able to access the file. "

"Be quiet!" Caradoc glared at me.

"Get the fuck back to your room! "

I immediately turned around and headed back to my room.

It was clear that Caradoc had deep animosity and resentment towards me.

When I was just about to shut the door, I heard his intimidating voice saying, "Don't give her anything to eat."

He didn’t feed me to the wolves, but shut me up in the house until I starve to death?

After three days, the doctor determined that there was no longer a risk to Laura's health and she could be discharged from the hospital.

She didn't waste any time and went straight to Caradoc's house.

"Caradoc, how are you doing right now? What did the physician have to say? At what point are you going to be able to get back on your feet?"

"The doctor believes my recovery is going really well. There’s something important I want to discuss with you, Mom. "

Laura proceeded, asking, "Is this about Alyssa? ", and her smile became a bit less bright.

" I'm sure I like Alyssa. but where exactly is she? You didn't try to force her to go, did you? "

Caradoc said, "I didn't."

"She hadn't had anything to eat or drink at all for three days. " Mrs. Rosalie replied.

Laura’s pov

I was standing at the threshold, peering into the room.

Alyssa was sitting in the corner of the room, with her back against the door and her head buried in her arms. Her hair was falling all over the place, giving the impression that she was unkempt. She was startled out of her sleepwalking reverie by the commotion at the door.

"Alyssa! "I let out a yell. The sight of Alyssa's pallor triggered an instant acceleration in the pace of my heartbeat. She looked like she hadn't slept properly in days; she had noticeable circles under her eyes. Her lips were dry, and her face was ghostly white.

"Are you being mistreated by him in any way? "Alyssa had successfully brought her weight down by a significant amount. Her lips were so parched that you could just about make out the fractures between them.

Her lips moved, but no sound emanated from her mouth.

Mrs. Rosalie brought a delicious milk-based beverage with her.

"Please get some drink, Madam. The arrival of Madam Laura signals that you may continue eating."

"Is he starving her to death? " What took place left me feeling quite shook to the core. I was so enraged that I stormed into the living room to face my son.

"I've found the girl for you, Caradoc. How do you want me to believe that you tortured her? "

"Because of her behavior, she must now face the consequences. Do you really believe that I would have allowed her to stay up to this point if it weren't for the sake of you? "

The tone of Caradoc's speech was cold and dispassionate.

"Mistake? What did Alyssa do? "

I had the impression that Alyssa was a young girl who had intelligence, deference, and perception.

Caradoc pursed his lips.

"I understand your hesitation to settle down and have a family. Alyssa is a pleasant young lady. It's OK if you don't love her; that's perfectly normal. It makes no difference whether you are only officially married as husband and wife; the important thing is that you be together. "

Caradoc signaled for his security personnel to hold me.

You have no authority to evict Alyssa. I mentioned this as the security guard was leading me to the couch.

As I came to the end of my statement, I became aware that I had started to get out of breath, and I sank back into the couch as quickly as I could. I was so pissed off that I felt my heart was to jump out.

Caradoc's point of view

It astonished me that my mother would be so adamant about anything.

She was far more enraged than I had expected, and it was an aspect that I had not accounted for in my planning.

I had hoped that the problem with Alyssa would be resolved as fast as possible, but it seemed that there were hurdles.

Not only did I dislike Alyssa, but I also rejected every other lady who made an attempt to pursue me.

Alyssa's point of view

I sat in the guest bedroom and sipped from the glass of milk.

"Have you heard that, Madam? " Mrs. Rosalie tried to console me by saying, "Master Caradoc won't kick you out as long as Madam Laura is there."

Despite the fact that I was completely exhausted, I was certain of one thing.

A divorce!

I'm getting a divorce from him whether he likes it or not. I was not going to submit myself to this agony for one more second.

There was absolutely no chance that I would ever run across Caradoc Capell again!

"Don't be upset, Madam."Mrs. Rosalie said.

Mrs. Rosalie walked at the door just as the bodyguard was pushing Master Caradoc in his wheelchair, and she said to him, "Madam's health isn't stable right now, Master Caradoc."

The only thing that had changed about Caradoc's appearance was that his eyes had taken on an icy quality.

After Mrs. Rosalie had made room, the security pushed Caradoc in. My eyes sprung open, and I thrust my head forward to meet his. It sounded as if there were sparks shooting about in all directions.

"What do you say, Caradoc? Let's get a divorce!" This comment was made as I was putting the bowl of oats down on the table. I quickly gathered my belongings and was prepared to go at a moment's notice.

I said it in a much harsher tone, " Go marry someone you actually adore!"

Caradoc, with a stern look on his face, replied, "That is how much you despise me. "

As I tried to slow down my pounding pulse and shallow breaths, the only thing I could think to say was, "I shouldn't have used your computer."

Caradoc questioned, "Did I mention that your punishment was finished?"
