Chapter 6

Chapter 6

On that particular day, I went to the clinic in the area to have a checkup.

My period began later, and the amount of blood that flowed was far less than usual. In all of my years, this was the very first time that anything even somewhat similar had taken happened.

I decided to take a cab to the hospital, where I then informed the attending physician on the facts. The physician swiftly booked an ultrasound for me based on the information I provided. About half an hour later, I got the result of the ultrasound.

It revealed the presence of a gestational sac....

To put it simply, I was expecting a child!

"There is bleeding, it is imperative that immediate action be taken. "

Fear was driving me completely insane.

"What if I do not want the baby?"

It was not the time for me to be expecting a child with Caradoc since we were going through the process of divorcing.

The physician gave me a long look,

She collected up my medical records and looked up at me.

"You're only 20?" Abortion surgery was a complicated operation.

"But even if you're intent on completing it today, I simply don't have time.

"Take some time out to relax and think about your decision. Now that you're displaying signs of bleeding, it's hard to say whether we'll be able to keep the baby nevertheless."

I felt my heart fall.

"What are the steps that need to be taken to save it?"

" If you would want me to give you a prescription for anything that could assist you in keeping the baby, please let me know. You'll have to stay in bed for a week, and then we'll see you again," the doctor told me.

After leaving the hospital......

I found it difficult to step outdoors into the bright sunshine.

My legs were beginning to feel heavy, and I could feel a chilling sweat covering my whole body.

I was at a loss for what to do.

I was certain of just one thing, that I would never reveal anything to Caradoc.

If I did not agree with his demands, he would have his security drag me onto the operating table against my will or directly feed me to the wolves as they did to Asdin.

I wanted some room to reflect.

A little kid was walking by with his hand in his mom’s.

"Mom, there's something I need to tell you." He said in a cute voice.

The woman tenderly and calmly caressed him on the back, and the child affectionately planted a kiss on her face before saying, "Mom, I love you!"

The mother laughed joyfully as she held her son in his arms.

For some reason, at that very second, I felt a flood of tears spring up in my eyes. Since my parents split up, I've yearned for a loving family, and seeing that familiar scene made me feel warmth felt like coming home again. I had never wanted more to have a child at that moment. I decided that keeping the baby was the right choice. I had to resort to my mom.

I took a bus to visit my uncle Harry.

Following the divorce of my parents, my mother, Evelyn Olsen, lived with my uncle.

Despite the fact that they weren't quite as affluent, Harry's family nonetheless managed to live in a reasonable comfort .

"Alyssa!" Maria, Harry's wife looked at me up and down before asking, "Did you come by yourself with nothing?"

As soon as I realized that I had taken nothing with me, Maria's demeanor abruptly shifted chilly.

I was in such a hurry to meet my mom that I forgot to bring gifts.

"I truly sorry. "

"I will buy something later and send here. "

"Don't bother, because even if you do purchase anything, I'll just toss it in the trash when I'm done with it! Your mother has been eating and living here for the last several months without paying a single dime, so your mother's daughter also arrived to do the same thing. Do you and your mother want to waste all that we have?"

Despite her pushing my hand away, I ducked my head and groped for some dollars to give to her.

Miranda said, in a mocking tone, " It seems like you've been very much banished from the Capell home. I just received the amazing news that Caradoc Capell is conscious again, which is wonderful news. You wouldn't be grieving for your mother and rushing over to visit her right now if he really cared about you with such little dime. "

My cheeks started to become a bright scarlet color.

Mom saw me being harassed, she quickly reprimanded, "Stop scolding my daughter, Maria. "

"When are you going to get over your tendency to be so sensitive, Evelyn? Keep in mind whose property you are on at all times. If you really have the guts, pack up your belongings and go! "

I was aware that Mom had very little chance of winning against Maria.

The scene made my heart race, and I could feel my stomach turning.

I had thought that my mother would be upset when I visited Uncle Harry's home, but I didn't think it would be that bad.

My mom lowered her head with embarrassment.

"Mom, maybe it would be best for you to find another apartment. I have a little quantity of cash with me... "

Mom thought a moment and said, "Okay, I'll go pack my things now."

A little over a quarter of an hour later, Mom walked out of Harry's house and into a cab that was waiting outside.

"Don't worry about me, Alyssa." Evelyn said with a bitter smile

"I was able to build up a savings account over the course of several years. I won't spend your money, you got to focus on your study. Following the conclusion of the divorce, you will be able to give your whole attention to your remaining coursework and graduate on schedule. "

I rested my head on her shoulder and nodded.

"We should all live in together, mom! "

Even though I was carrying a kid, I did not intend to notify my mother.I don’t want to put any more pressure on her.

When I arrived back at the Capell home much later that evening, the expansive living room was strangely still. When Mrs. Rosalie appeared out of nowhere, I immediately broke out in a cold sweat.

"Mrs. Rosalie. Why isn't he at home? " There has been no sign of Caradoc.

Mrs. Rosalie moaned as she said, "The doctor advised him to rest at home, but he refused to listen."

He was harsh and belligerent, and the level of arrogance he displayed was intolerable.

By the time he had regained consciousness, whatever sympathy that I could have felt for him while he was ill had completely vanished.

I was restless throughout the night and kept switching positions. My thoughts wandered to the unborn child.

I had not been any less tense since I had gone for the hospital, and all of a sudden, it was dawning the next day.

Since I was nervous about seeing Caradoc, I lingered in my room for a considerable amount of time. My door was knocked on by Mrs. Rosalie at 9:30 in the morning, and she said that "Master Caradoc has just left, Madam. Please do come for breakfast. "

Mrs. Rosalie could read my thoughts, I got a red blush on my cheeks. Following breakfast, I was given a call.

An old friend of mine contacted me about the possibility of working as a design script.
