The morning sun began to shine, its light streaming into the room through the gaps in the curtains. This was the second time Alexander's phone alarm had gone off, but he still hadn't opened his eyes.

Alexander turned off his phone alarm and then shifted his position to face Jennifer. He wanted to hug her again. However, Jennifer was not there beside him. When he reached out to touch the empty side of the bed, his wife wasn't there. Alexander slowly opened his eyes to confirm.
