That morning, the sound of Jennifer's phone alarm didn't wake her up. She was still deeply asleep. The cold morning breeze brushed against her skin. Jennifer curled up under the blanket, trying to warm herself from the dominating chill. The birds outside chirped, creating a melody heard by the universe but incapable of waking her.
