Cliry’s POV
"Cliry! Get up! You are going to be late for school! It seems to be seven o'clock in the morning!!!" Santi's high-pitched voice jolted me awake.
"Santi, Today is the weekend. I don't have a class." I stated calmly. I resist the urge to reprimand him.
"Is it completely right? Oh, my apology." He finally left my room after that.
I buried my face in the pillow and gradually slept off it.
Around three o'clock in the afternoon, I awoke.
My cousins were not around when I went down, so I presume they went outside to play basketball.
When I was supposed to be having my breakfast, my phone rang. I was afraid to pick up the phone because it was from an unknown number.
But in the end, I simply chose to respond. Who knows, it could be a crucial call.
"Hello, who is this?" I asked
"Meet me at the park at 7:00 p.m. tonight. Just don't be late! Also, do remember to bring my bag!"
Wait, a bag? Is it him?
"Wilford?" I inquired.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine him calling just to demand and check on things!
"Can you think of anyone else? Have you taken another bag in addition to the one I own?"
I sighed and rolled my eyes! Seriously?
"You are a stalker! How did you manage to get my phone number?!?"
"It's none of your concern! So see you tonight!"
I was about to say anything, but he had already hung up.
I attempted to contact him again, but his phone number was unanswered.
Psh! Should I make the trip?
Is it okay if I return his bag? But it's the ethical thing to do: to return something that isn't mine. Right?
No!
But what if I don't show up?
Will he endanger me in any way? How about my cousins? He is surely an evil man, and I am sure he is capable of doing evil things.
Aish! It irritates me! My mind was debating whether or not to go while I waited for the time.
I've finally decided to go to the park at exactly seven o'clock.
I simply go for a walk because it is close to our home.
I arrived at the park after a few minutes. Wilford is already anticipating my arrival.
He began, "You are fifteen minutes late."
I examined my wristwatch. So what if I'm fifteen minutes late?
"I believe you are exaggerating! Why should I keep track of how much time I've been late? Just be grateful that I'm here to meet you, okay!?!"
"And the honor for being the most chatty goes to you. Now, where did I put my bag?"
My mouth was left wide open because of what he said. He just insulted me!
"I didn't remember to bring it." Oh, Cliry, such a pathetic explanation.
"Did you forget? Or was it supposed to be forgotten?"
I was ready to defend myself when he interrupted me again.
"If you're looking for the journal in my purse, I'm afraid you won't be able to open it. I hold the key."
Then he showed off his necklace's pendant. That is the key!
I was going to take it when my hand was suddenly snatched by him.
"Cliry, what do you want?" He was staring at me, and I have to admit that I couldn't endure it.
"N-no-nothing....." I've simply started stammering.
"What do you want, Cliry? Answer me!!!" By the way he yelled at me, I'd say he's angry right now. I bowed down until I couldn't hold back my emotions any more.
I cried out all of my life's frustrations.
All of the misery, all of the yearning, all of the anguish.
"I'd like to be enlightened, Wilford. In my head, there are a lot of questions running around. I know you're the only person who can help me."
"I'm not the best person to round out your picture, Cliry. You're behaving in this manner because your boyfriend died. You should probably quit looking for answers to your questions. First and foremost, I have no intention of assisting you or becoming engaged in your life. Simply return the journal to me. Everything, including the photo you saw, is yours to keep. Please, just return the journal."
He reached out and slid his handkerchief into my palm.
He walked away from me after saying, "Stop sobbing."
So, I guess I just got his response.
I guess he won't be able to help me.
I suppose it's time for me to leave now.
But I'm afraid I won't be able to.
It has to do with my boyfriend.
It all comes down to us.
It's all about what we had beforehand.
