Cliry’s POV
I was rushing to make it to class on time. I was a little late getting up this morning, which is why I'm hurrying to get to class. I attempted to stay away from everyone I came across.
I was ready to turn into another hallway, when I collided with someone. She dropped her belongings on the ground, and I instantly assisted her in retrieving them while also apologizing.
I believe she will accept my apology, but I was mistaken.
"Take a look at what you've done! Are you attempting to play at school? Because of what you're doing, you've caused a lot of trouble!" Her voice was so loud that it attracted the attention of everyone in the place.
I shut my eyes. I'm trying to stay calm and pleasant.
"Please accept my sincerest apology. I'm rushing because I don't want to be late for class."
"That is no longer my issue! If you don't want to be late, you should come in early."
"It's my fault, I know. That is why I am apologizing once more."
“Your sorry is not enough! Pay for the harm you've caused!"
"P-pay?" Is she referring to money?
"Brainless."
"What?!?!" This smells like battle, but I'm not going to let her call me brainless.
It's one thing for a stranger to label me a moron.
"I told you you're stupid! Negligent! And a loser!" My mouth was left wide open because of what she said.
"You b*tch, we're not done yet! Be prepared for what will occur after class!" she added. And she was even threatening me. Seriously?
I replied, rolling my eyes, "As if I care."
What a fantastic way to start my day!
So, rather than continuing with our current lesson, I went to the cafeteria. I'll just go to the next class because I'm already late due to the incident.
I glanced at my wristwatch, which indicated that I would have to wait another two hours. Psh. I'm bored, and I'm not happy or entertained while scrolling through my phone. Isn't it possible that I should just sleep? Or should I go to the library to maximize my vacant time?
I was going to lean on the table when someone grabbed my hand and drew me away. Wilford's voice was what I heard. Did he skip our class as well?
"Why do you insist on dragging me around?" While we were walking, I managed to ask.
"Because you're worth dragging for," he simply replied before escorting me back to the rooftop. The same location. Is this his favorite spot?
"How did we end up here? I'm sure you don't want to get connected with me, so why did you drag me back here?"
"Can you tell me where my journal is?" Instead of responding, he is interrogating me. Is it because of his diary, then?
"I forgot to bring it." I then drew closer to him and handed over my bag.
"Go ahead and double-check it. Simply to establish that I am saying the truth." I went on to say.
He gave me a puzzled expression. I simply pouted.
"I'm going to leave Wilford..."
"Can you tell me where you're going?" Why is he asking so many questions?
"I'm going to eat. I was at the cafeteria before you brought me here. I was there obviously because I wanted to eat, but you disturbed me all of a sudden."
I explained myself. Oh, shoot! Is it necessary for me to tell him this?
"Stay exactly here," he said.
I believe that is a demand, not a plea, based on the tone of his voice. He then proceeded to give me some chocolates.
"What are these chocolates for?" I'm perplexed; I'm not used to it. Why is he kind to me all of a sudden?
"Those were edible. I didn't put poison on it, so don't worry."
"I'm not saying anything like that, defensive huh,"
"Well, why didn't you show up for the first class?"
Why am I, by the way, conversing with him? I'm supposed to be annoyed at him, right?
"I'm running behind schedule." I replied quickly and then began eating the chocolates he had given me.
Take a look at me right now. I'm even eating something he provided.
"You should come at least to the class room, our teacher was not around as well, so basically, we did not have a class.” I felt relieved because of what he said. At least I did not cut my class today.
"Cliry, later you should go home with me." I almost got choked because of what he said. Am I hearing him clearly?
"I'm not joking," he said. I fixed my gaze on him... And sure, he did have a serious expression on his face.
"I'll be picked up by my cousin."
"Just tell them that you'll be picked up by someone else." And there he goes again, commanding me.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not up to it. And, by the way, why are you commanding me?!? Does that mean that we are getting close?!"
"Just shut up and do as I say. See you in our next class, seatmate," he said as he walked out the door.
Aargh! I'd better skip school today!
What's the matter with him? What's up with the odd acting?
With frustration, I proceed to our next class. Wilford had already taken the seat next to me. I didn't say anything to him. I tried to flee once our class finished, but he was watching me. I continued questioning why he wanted to send me home, but all he answered was that I had to obey him.
So, I think, asking the same question over and over is pointless.
I attempted to come up with an excuse, and I'm hoping it would work. I explained that I needed to use the restroom. He agreed, but he insisted on accompanying me to the restroom door. I hurriedly took the possibility of exiting through the other door while inside the ladies' comfort room. It's a good thing our bathroom has two doors. He didn’t notice me. A big thanks!
I rushed towards the main gate... I'm hoping one of my cousins was already there. Upon reaching the main entrance, I didn’t find any of them.
I let out a sigh.
I need to make a phone call to them.
Someone immediately covered my eyes with a piece of cloth as I was going to grab my phone.
I tried to pull his hands away from me, but he is much stronger than I am. He dragged me into the van right away.I yelled for rescue, but it appears that no one heard me.
We arrived at an abandoned structure after about half an hour.
In my assessment, the guy has already removed the lid.
I immediately recognized the girl I had met earlier in the day.
So she meant every word she said? This is so tragic!
"I warned you about this, stupid b*tch. You must choose your opponent!" She stated her case.
"You're simply overreacting. I'm not searching for a conflict. And if I was a brainless b*tch, you'd be the pitiful witch." Being calm and pleasant comes last in these situations.
That girl inched her way closer to me.
"Before I crush your bones and cause you pain, allow me to introduce myself. Mara is my name. Cliry, you appear to be a really brave young lady, "
She was going to grasp my hair, but I managed to keep my distance.
"You're trying my patience!" she exclaimed, but I stayed oddly silent. I merely sighed and rolled my eyes. Girl, enough with the drama.
"You deserve to be alone! You have deserved everything that has happened to you in the past! And, by the way, I'll let you in on a little secret: did you know that I was one of the people who plotted to murder your boyfriend? "Hearing what she said shocked me. I'm trying to say something, but nothing comes out of my mouth.
"Gio, get the baseball bat... I'm just going to give this girl a lesson," Mara stated.
The man who had previously covered my eyes dashed away, only to return moments later with a baseball bat in his hand.
Mara clearly wants to hit me, and that's pathetic. Someone took the baseball bat from her hand just as she was about to hit me.
"Wilford..."
"I've already informed you that I'm going to send you home. How did you get away from me?" he asked.
I'm not sure what occurred to me, but I suddenly found myself running towards Wilford and hugging him.
He returned my hug.
And I have to admit, I felt completely protected in his embrace.
