Cliry’s POV
"Didn't I tell you to obey me? Take a look at what occurred. You were almost got hit by Mara," Wilford angrily said.
We returned to the school, specifically to the rooftop. He's keeping an eye on me. He's looking to see whether I have any bruises or scrapes.
"Are you familiar with her?" I inquired while he was examining me.
"She is insane, so keep your distance from her. I can't always protect you."
I shut my eyes. A change of heart has occurred. I'm not sure why I'm feeling this way right now. And why did he suddenly change his actions anyway?
"She used to think we'd be married when she was twenty-one years old. She thinks I'm her fiance, but the truth is that we don't have anything in contact other than being classmates," he added.
Is Mara truly that way? It's no surprise that she's upset with me. Maybe she believes I'm looking after Wilford.
"Wilford..."
"Yes?"
"May I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead and do it."
"Mara claimed to be one of the people that plotted to murder my boyfriend. Are you conspiring together to assassinate my boyfriend?"
Before speaking, he let out a long sigh.
He said, "No."
"What is it that she is implying?" I have no idea who Mara is or if she is telling the truth.
"This time, Cliry, I'll be the one to ask you. Do you really know who your boyfriend is? Are you really familiar with him?"
"Of course!" I exclaimed. We've known one other for a long time. We are open to one another! We're not going to withhold any secrets from ourselves!
"But how come you're still asking so many questions if you know him so well? What makes you want to know the answers? Remember how I said I wouldn't be able to help you? It's because you should ask your boyfriend straight for such answers."
"However, he has vanished. And you were the one who put him to death! Wilford!"
"Cliry, it's becoming late, I'm sure your cousins are on the lookout for you.I'm going to send you home. Please simply cooperate this time."
"Wilford!" Why is he avoiding to deepen our conversation?
"Listen, Cliry, I understand you despise me. I'm sure you think I'm a serial killer. I'm aware that you consider me a monster. But, if you don't want to obey me in the future, at the very least learn to defend yourself."
"You don't want to be a part of my life, do you?" That's what he said, but what he's doing and acting like right now contradicts that.
"If something awful happens to you, I won't be able to forgive myself. Let us now return to our homes."
I got to my feet and followed him.
He drove me back to my house. My cousins aren't waiting for me outside, which is a good thing. They should not have seen me with Wilford. And so I went straight to the veranda. I want to breathe some fresh air. The same smell of the air when I am on the rooftop together with him.
