"No one cares if you are Bella f***king Anderson, others may do but I don't. You're not entitled to anything on this part of the turf." Mike blared to her face which was getting red.
He might have lied about not knowing the Andersons, he knew the majority of the elites, and the Anderson stood at the top of the list.
"Why are you even here? An elite like you shouldn't be where dirty smelly low life resides. They should be in their fancy cars and house doing elite shit." He said.
She opened her mouth to retort but the sound of the car horn disturbed her and she turned sideways, it was the backup driver who didn't know a better pick-up time than now.
"I don't know who you are but watch your back, people like you who have no regard for others higher than you end up in terrible places." She snarled and walked away her hair flipping over her shoulders aggressively hitting him in the face.
She got into the car and gave Mike a deathly glare until she was out of sight.
"Geez mike, you pissed the little princess off," Al said tapping his back playfully. Mike watched as the car rode off the dirt and out of sight.
Bella Anderson. Of course, he wouldn't forget her face, even after sixteen years, she didn't seem to change that much. Still as witty and loud-mouthed as always. He shook off the memory that was trying to dig its way back to the present day.
"I brought in some goods for the guys, they'll come to pick it by 7 before the tournament," Mike said and Al's eye's widened in excitement.
"The tournament starts today doesn't it?" he asked and mike nodded.
"Yea, it's about time, although I'm skeptical about it being an open house." Mike pondered his eye following the kids that were playing on the street.
"Why? What is happening? Did Diablo say something?" Al asked concern etched on his face.
"He didn't but if you noticed most of his men are now roaming the streets and that can't be good. They might come around and cause trouble." Mike explained as he let out a sigh and ran his hands through his hair.
"But you can handle them all, by yourself if I might add," AL said proudly. "You are not the shadow for nothing." He praised but mike wasn't so excited about it.
"I can't be there to protect everyone at the same times, especially the boys. Even though they feel like they've been trained to fight and protect themselves, diablo is not some person they should try to fight against." He said
"You are right, that is true but we can make them we don't want any trouble, I'm sure some men would want to stand in as protocols, I'll get them in by 5," AL suggested.
"Thank you Al." mike said shaking the man's hand. "I have to get going, it's about time I pick up Lucas from school. I can imagine him throwing a fit if I show up late again." He chuckled nervously scratching the back of his neck.
"Again? You won't blame the kid, you promised him you would be there on time but ended up showing up forty minutes later." Al reminded him and mike winced climbing onto his bike.
"Yea yea." Mike put on his helmet.
"BEFORE YOU GO!" Al said abruptly which made mike stop the engine.
"I almost forgot, Kat, asked me to invite you two for dinner tomorrow night," Al informed him and mike smiled. Kat was Al's younger sister who stayed with him, she was more of the older one between the both of them as she acted like a mother figure. She adored the Fishers brothers, Lucas because he was a cute kid, and Mike because she was somewhat attracted to him. Even after Mike had made it clear that he wasn't into her or any woman, Kat still pushed hoping to change his mind.
"Oh, I'm sure Lucas would love to come around. I'm not sure if I would be there though...." Al groaned running his hands through his face is distraught.
"Fine, I'll try to but I can't promise. I have some work to finish up," he said turning on the bike and with one last curt nod he zoomed away.
"Honey, are you sure you're okay?" her mother asked while she stabbed her salad. She looked up from her plate to her mother's haze eyes which she shared, her mother's brown hair packed back in a sleek low bun reminded her how much she was a carbon copy of her mother. If she reciprocated the style she knew she would look like a younger sister and not a daughter. Even after forty years of living, Emilia Anderson had sustained her beauty and skin by using the mass amount of wealth she had to look young and flawless.
"yes, I'm fine." She answered shoving the vegetables stuck on the fork into her mouth.
"You don't look it though." Her mother countered and Bella's eyes caught her mother again before she looked away.
"I'm fine." She repeated grabbing onto the base of the wine glass.
"So what exactly happened out there? Who did you want to bite their head off?" her mother asked again and Bella's grip on the cup tightened on the cup.
"Honey, calm down. You might snap the cup in half if you push that hard.' Her mother said and she looked to her side releasing her grip on the cup, placing it back on the table.
"I really do not want to talk about it. All I can say is that my day keeps on plummeting and I am not happy just one bit." She admitted folding her hands across her chest staring away from her mother's piercing eyes.
"I'm sorry honey." Her mother apologized reaching for her palms which she squeezed in encouragement. "Even during the bad days..." she began to quote and Bella looked back into the hazel eyes.
"I will turn the tables and take advantage of it. I will keep my head held high and face it head-on because I am an Anderson." She completed with a confident smile forming on her lips.
"Good, now that is the daughter I birthed," Emilia said proudly. Bella felt much better, affirmations and constant reminders of who she is and where she is being things she doesn't joke with. They form part of her every existence.
"So, Ella. There is something I've been wanting to talk to you about." She started and Bella glanced at her mother. She wasn't sure If they were bad news or good news for things like this had never happened. She had always been the one in charge with no sort of opinion from any person.
"What is it?" she replied taking a sip of her wine.
"You have been so involved with work that you never do anything else." Emilia began and Bella raised her brow at her mother.
"What do you mean mother? Of course, I do other things, I travel..." she tried explaining.
"For business meetings." Emilia countered.
"I go on personal vacations."
"To get ideas for new designs and not unwind El. There is a very thin line between the two." Emilia replied and Bella huffed. Her mother was being difficult right now and all because she wasn't having fun as she wanted her to.
"I don't get it, mother. Where are you headed?" she asked her mother daringly.
