I yanked my hand out of his grip, my chest rising and falling too fast. “I will do anything to save my child,” I said, my voice shaking but firm. I turned to leave, desperation pushing me forward—but his hand caught me again, stronger this time.
I stopped, his grip tightened just enough to remind me who he was. “I am in charge of this palace,” he said, his tone cold, absolute. “If I command it, no one will attend to you in that hospital. Not a single person, no matter how much you beg.”
My breath caught. Slowly, I turned back to face him. Tears blurred my vision...
