Aria's POV

I sent a message to Aldric the next morning.

Simple and direct. "We need to talk about what you attempted with Thomas. Meet me at the border fort today."

His response came within hours. "I'll be there at noon."

Drogo insisted on coming with me. I didn't argue. Facing my father alone felt impossible right now.

We arrived early and waited. Aldric showed up exactly on time with Gerard beside him as always.

"Aria. Drogo," he greeted us like this was a normal diplomatic meeting.
