Chapter 16

The next two days pass in a blur of training and avoiding people. Derek keeps pushing me harder and I keep getting better which is something I guess. I can actually hold my own for a few minutes now before he disarms me. That's Progress.

But the council meeting looms over everything like a storm cloud. I can feel people watching me more than usual. Whispering when I walk by. Judging whether I'm worth keeping around.

Sara tries to keep my spirits up. She brings me food and tells me stories about the pack and pretends like everything's fine. But I can see the worry in her eyes....
