My eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, I forgot everything.

The room was quiet. Warm sunlight slipped through the curtains, and I stretched lazily beneath the blankets.

Then I remembered that Ronan was gone and so was the small spark of happiness. I glared at the space beside me.

It was ridiculous.

I had spent weeks wishing to escape his cold stares, his harsh words, and the way he made me feel less than. 

So why did his absence feel like something was missing?

I sat up quickly, annoyed with myself.

“Stop it, Josie.”

I was not going to spend the next ten weeks sitting around missing a man...
