Jalen was definitely confused and patted my shoulder, but seemed at a loss for what to do. 

"Luna, don't cry," Jalen tried, but I couldn't stop. Every breath came out as another sob. My vision blurred and my chest hurt. I was doomed to die, and that scared me.
