The doctor’s examination felt endless.

Every second I remained in this room was another second Josie stood outside waiting for me. 

Finally, he straightened and released a weary sigh.

“Your Majesty… I’ve done every examination I could.”

“And?”

“There is nothing wrong with her.”

“She fainted.”

“Her pulse is normal. Her breathing is steady. Blood work shows nothing unusual.” He hesitated under my stare. “To be honest… she’s only asleep.”

“You want me to believe that?!" I growled.

He shrugged his shoulder casually, “Perhaps… she experienced a sudden fright. Stress can-”

“Enough.”
