Chapter 8 Episode eight

Chapter 8 Episode eight

She had soaked her clothes with tears while sitting beside her mother on the bed.

"Mum, where's dad?" She asked the sick woman.

"I slept off that I didn't know when he left, what are you doing here? You should be at home by now…" she replied.

She focused her gaze on her. Probably, she should be at home because they agreed not to let her know what's going on.

But she is beside her Instead, and she's trying to cover up.

The situation her mother is in is so terrible, that she doesn't need to tell her about anything no matter how persistent she asks.

"I came with a friend to the hospital to see her hospitalized father. But we'll be leaving soon." Olivia explained.

Actually she came to see her hospitalized father. But is he a friend indeed? Is that gender actually a feminine?

She's aware that it's all lies, and that's the only way to keep things hidden from her mother.

"I'll stay with you until Dad returns." She whispered to her.

She glanced at her. "What if your friend leaves you? You can leave with her, your father will be here soon."

Olivia didn't find that assuring, she had her screaming for help when she came in… and she shut her mouth.

Now she's proving to be okay in order to push her out of her side. Anyways, she doesn't need to be mad at the woman… She only wishes to see her daughter happy.

"It doesn't matter mum, she can leave and I'll go back alone. I believe she will understand." She referred to her mother.

Huh! Will Lucien truly understand what she means? That question hir her mind instantly.

"I'll have to let him know no matter what." She convinced herself.

She began humming some sounds to keep her mother busy, and then she dozed off instantly.

Olivia got on her feet pacing round the room, she wasn't happy to see her mother in such condition.

"Where will my dad get the amount of money needed to cure mom's sickness? How? When? Can he pay the hospital bills and that of Lucien…" she shook her head.

This is really eating her up. "Lucien will deal with me for the sin of my dad."

She stared at her mother again and broke out in tears that she couldn't control.

"Olivia…" she heard her name called out from the corridor. She moved to the door while wiping the tears on her cheek.

"Where are you Olivia…?" She heard the voice again.

"You better get her now or you eat your flesh." She overheard Lucien's voice roaring at his guard.

She quietly opened the door and stepped out.

"Olivia… what are you doing in there?" Lucien threw the annoying question at her

She took a deep breath. "I'm with my mother." The words escaped her throat.

Lucien narrowed his eyes, walking closer to her. "Did you just say your mother? What's she doing here?"

She was shocked to see her showing concern towards her matter. The inhuman billionaire that everyone knows.

"She's hospitalized, but I don't know how long it has been." She replied.

Lucien moved to the door and pushed the door open. He sighted Olivia's mother lying lifelessly on the bed.

He moved closer to the woman taking a good look at her. "She has the same look as her daughter." He muttered and left the room to meet Olivia leaning on the wall, while the guard was beside her.

"For how long has she been in this condition?" He asked her.

"It's a week now." She replied.

He heaved a big sigh with his head bent low. His guard kept staring at him, he was so shocked to see his boss being caring to his enemy.

"Please… ummm! Can I ask you a favour?" Olivia drew her attention.

He lifted his face, staring at her. "What is it?"

"I want to stay with my mother until my dad comes back. Leaving her to be alone is so risky." She pleaded.

Lucien glanced at his guard and then at Olivia again. He would grant that favor because the woman needs someone by her side.

He had compared her condition to that of his father, it's kind of heartbreaking.

"No problems with that, but the guard will be with you until he returns. And make sure you come back as promised or you know the consequences." He stated.

She felt glad but didn't express it. "Thank you so much master." She greeted him.

He nodded and walked out with the driver, and they left the hospital.

"Oh my God! So what should I offer you dude?" Charles referred to Lucien.

He smiled. "I don't need anything, you don't need to worry about that."

Charles got seated opposite him. "Your looks aren't bright. Is anything the matter?"

He inquired. He had known his friend for a very long time now. Lucien hardly gets worried about something or rather someone.

He is a less caring human being that doesn't have time at all.

"My father. He's between life and death and there's nothing that can be do to save his life." He explained.

Charles laughed, making him grimace. He doesn't find that funny in any way.

"What sort of story is that? There should be a cure to the illness no matter how much it may cost." Charles replied.

He sniffed. "I'm just coming back from the hospital, and the doctor keeps saying the same thing. This is kind of irritating."

"And now, my mother insists that I'll have to get married soon and have a child before the death of my father." He explained further..

Charles widened his eyes on hearing the word death. "Has it reached that stage just now… death." He screamed.

Lucien bent his head low. "I don't want a woman in my life. So how can I fulfill that promise?"

"I'm scared of women these days."

"And that's exactly what I'm dodging not to encounter. I'm thinking of doing this.."

Charles widened his ears to hear what he's up to.

"Any woman that gets pregnant for me will be my contracted wife. Once she delivers the baby… .she will sign a divorce paper and I'll pay her off." He explained.

Charles sighed. "What about the baby? "

"I'll hire a babysitter that will care for the baby. It's better." Lucien stated.

"Okay then, if you believe in it that way… then I hope it will go smoothly for you." Charles assured him.

Lucien got on his feet. "I think I should give my guard a call."

"What for? You're already about to leave." Charles snapped.

He shook his head. "He's in the hospital with my female servant. Her mother is sick so she pleaded to stay with her till her father returns."

Charles affixed his gaze on him. "Wait! You now have a female servant? How… why?"

"Her father is owing me and this is the only way to make sure he pays. Once he brings my money I'll release his daughter." He narrated.

Charles couldn't help it but break out in laughter. "Are you really sure this is the reason you took that innocent girl? Or some other thing?"

"Like what…?"

"You understand what I mean. If she's a female servant… Why should she follow you to the hospital? Don't you think your parents will think the other side of it." Charles announced to him.

He rolled his eyes, recalling the statements his mother made. But that isn't his business… he doesn't care what they think.

"Look Charles, I took her in replace of the debt… nothing else. And she isn't gonna be my wife. But…" he shook his head. "I pity her mother, she needs to be given more attention."

"Now you're being cared for which you've never been before… I don't really get what you're up to Lucien. There's something behind all this." Charles commented.

He stretched his lips, twisting his face. "You're insane Charles."

"Who knows if I'll love the girl once I see her… and you know? I'll dig into her." He arched his brow while glancing at Lucien.

Lucien felt irritated on hearing that. "Heaven knows I won't let you see her… I can't share her with anyone."

"Huh! What of the other women…? Must this servant of yours be so special this way?" Charles was shocked.

He got seated again. "What haunts me now is about her mother. Something needs to be done so she won't give up." He felt haunted.

Charles sat beside him this time. "Now tell me that you're falling in love and that you're caring about your future Mother in-law. That lady must have stolen your heart."

"She hasn't and can never. I hate her with the last blood in my veins… she is my slave and I'll do with her anything I want." Lucien declared feeling sad.

Charles kept laughing at him. "The Lucien I know has changed."

He turned deaf ear to that statement, bringing out his cell phone from his pocket.
