"Young man, you better leave before you get hurt," one of the mugglers tells Lee Yeon before letting him go. They mock the slender young man who is fighting alone against a swarm of large mugglers.

    The crown prince simply smiles and walks closer. No one knows what his true identity is. He was just walking along when he noticed a group of mugglers attempting to get a young woman in trouble. So he showed up to assist her. The big guys rush forward to strike the young man, but Lee Yeon is adept at dodging all of their attacks. With only a few minutes left, the crown prince is able to defeat all of the mugglers on his own.

    When Lee Yeon smiles and approaches her, Moon Ryeong, who had been watching from the side, looks at him with a straight face. She has no idea who he is or whether he is there to help her or to put her in danger. As a result, the young woman's grip on the rock she is holding becomes tighter. She is prepared to attack if he intends to harm her.

   "Are you all right, miss?" Lee Yeon inquires politely of Moon Ryeong. He keeps his distance because he knows Moon Ryeong is wary of him. He puts on his best smile to persuade the girl that he will not harm her.

   "I believe it is quite dangerous here, so I will accompany you home... What are your thoughts?" He is still attempting to persuade her. At that time, Moon Ryeong's female attendant approached her and attempted to converse with her master.

   "Miss... Let's go home with him for the time being... I don't want you to get into any more trouble here "said the female attendee, her voice trembling. Moon Ryeong looks at her and notices that the girl with her is trembling in fear. She also sustains bruises to her face and hand.

  "I guess she's hurt," Lee Yeon says, referring to Moon Ryeong's concern about the female attendance. He is attempting to use her sympathy for the girl to persuade her to accept his offers to safely escort her home. When she hears his statement, Moon Ryeong frowns.

   "I will accompany you two home so your servant can receive prompt treatment," the crown prince offers.

   "No way, sir! I'm fine. I don't require treatment "the female in attendance attempting to reject his kindness She is afraid to ask for treatment for her wound because it is common for her to get a small scrap in order to protect her master.

    "Let's just go home," Moon Ryeong finally said, brightening Lee Yeon's smile.

    "I would never hurt you in any way. So you're free to take that rock with you. Just in case you think I'm going to hurt you. You are free to hit me with that...." Lee Yeon indicates the rock by pointing to the woman's hand. It causes Moon Ryeong to stare at him with her usual cold gaze.

   "I certainly will," she says.

  Just as they agreed, Lee Yeon takes the Choi family's daughter to her home without any malice. To protect her, he walks three steps behind her and the female attendant. They walk silently. Lee Yeon turns around and leaves without saying anything once they arrive at the Choi family's house and Moon Ryeong's safety is assured.

   Moon Ryeong, on the other hand, did not turn around at all along the way, despite the fact that she can vividly hear Lee Yeon's footstep and ensure that the man keeps his promise to safely escort her home. She turns around just as the main gate is about to close after entering the house and walking up the stairs. She can see Lee Yeon's back as she walks further away until the gate is tightly shut.

   The next day, Moon Ryeong spends her time painting a beautiful orchid on a fabric sheet. She paints with a sad expression on her face. She recalls a memory from her childhood when she used to present her painting to a special person for her. Her mother.

   "Miss, I am here," a man's voice can be heard outside her room.

   "Come in," the mistress says, not looking at the approaching young man and insisting on continuing her painting. Before making a report, the young man dressed as a knight bows to her.

    "I confirm that Kim Seong Yeol is currently staying at Jeolla," the knight says.

    "Jeolla?" Moon Ryeong paused her painting to think for a moment."Isn't that the province where the queen is currently staying?" she asks.

   "That's correct, miss"

   The queen left the palace years ago, leaving her husband and the crown prince behind. According to legend, the queen opposed the king's ascension into a vampire servant and allowed their people to die for the monster's sacrifice. That is why the queen has been sent into exile from the palace. Because Kim Seong Yeol, Helios's sworn enemy, lives in the same province, Moon Ryeong is suspicious if he joins forces with the queen to oppose the great vampire.

   "In addition, I discovered this in the capital. This flyer was distributed throughout the capital. The civilians are still talking about it "The knight handed Moon Ryeong a piece of paper and asked her to carefully read it.

  The flyer depicts someone expressing his displeasure with allowing a vampire to become a terror of the kingdom. The writer is attempting to persuade everyone who reads the flyer not to let the fear of dark vampires consume them. He also stated that there is more power available to put an end to vampire cruelty. He tries to give everyone hope that the dark era of the kingdom will end sooner if they believe in the hidden power.

   "the night scholar? who is that?" Moon Ryeong read the writer's initial and wondered who was brave enough to enrage Helios by writing such a thing. Helios will be furious if he finds out about this. He despises it when a mere human attempts to dethrone his power.

  "I understand. You certainly can!" Moon Ryeong can't finish her sentence because she suddenly feels a heavy and painful sensation in her chest. She coughs so hard that she has to cover her mouth with her hand. The knight quickly approached her and inquired about her condition. He is astounded to learn that Moon Ryeong is coughing up blood.

  "Miss! Are you all right? I'll go see a doctor "He says in a panic.

   "Uhuk! No... Just give me a break; I need to be alone." Moon Ryeong dismisses the knight to walks out of her room. Despite the fact that the young man appears hesitant to leave her alone in that situation, he cannot disobey her command.

  "Don't let that old man find out about my condition," the mistress warns her knights, pleading with them to keep her condition hidden from her father. She despises it when that old man meddles in her affairs. She despises him to the bone. 

  The knights takes a look on his mistress with a pitiful expression. He doesn't understand whats happened on her take make the young woman coughing up in blood. He just can make a guess that she might be seriously ill. But yet, even though so she doesn't want her father to knows about that.

   Moon Ryeong stared at the blood on her hand; it had been a while since she had felt uneasy and sick, but this was the first time she had coughed up blood. Her chest was still heavy and in a lot of pain, so she summoned her female attendant to bring her a change of clothes and some drinks to help her nausea. She also requests that the attendant prepare her bed earlier so that she can rest. She doesn't want anyone to bother her in the meantime.

   The night has arrived, and Helios, who had spent the entire day alone in his dark cave, is now bored and lonely. So, once the sun has set, he emerges from his cave and goes to a high tree to enjoy the night view. He maintains a dead gaze on the horizon. He's lived for hundreds of years, and the longer he lives, the lonelier he has been and the crueler he becomes.

   There are times when Helios wishes he could live like a human, capable of dying when the time comes. But he is immortal and cannot die like any other human being. The only thing he enjoys about his life is when he can trample all of humanity's power and become the most powerful creature on the planet. He also enjoys playing with human life because it makes him feel like a God. Nonetheless, he is powerless to stop a hole in his heart from growing larger and deeper as time passes. It gives him the impression that he is the only one who is always left alone in this world.

   Helios notices a sweet scent coming closer to where he is right now. He takes slow, deep breaths to inhale the intoxicating scent. He smiles as he recognizes the sweet scent of a certain human being with whom he is intimately familiar. He scans the area and notices a young woman walking alone in the distance with a straight face. His smile widened as he realized she had arrived. As a result, he approaches her at the speed of the wind and appears behind her.

   A gust of wind is blowing around Moon Ryeong. She becomes wary as she realizes the cruelest creature has appeared and is going to reach her. When she hears his footsteps approaching her, she frowns and freezes in place.

 "It's wonderful to see you here. I'm getting tired of being alone "His usual deep voice is speaking like a cold wind blowing, making anyone shiver.

   Helios carefully walks around her, inhaling her scent. He yanks her shoulder closer and places his head against her neck. In order to avoid being bitten by the vampire, Moon Ryeong must grip her own hand and hold her breath. Helios closes his eyes and smells her before slowly pulling himself away. He carefully observes her lovely features and cold gaze.

  Choi Moon Ryeong is one of the inhabitants who have kept him engaged and interested for the past ten years. Looking at her is like looking into his own soul. The young woman radiated the same loneliness that he did. Despite the fact that she wields power and comes from a noble family, the woman never appears to be happy. Despite the fact that she is surrounded by people who treat her well, her gaze is filled with loneliness. She, like him, harbors a grudge and craves power. As a result, he always enjoys his time with her.

   "There is something I want to report to you," Moon Ryeong says at the end, as the vampire doesn't seem to have anything to say other than staring at her face.

 "Tell me later." Helios raises his hand to prevent Moon Ryeong from taking anything from her hand pocket to show him. Moon Ryeong looked at him, puzzled, as he never stopped her from reporting. Furthermore, she is well aware that this is an urgent matter that he must be informed of right away.

  "I'm tired of spending the entire day by myself. Now that you're here, I'd like to go for a walk with you. For the time being, just accompany me "He smiles at the prospect of enjoying the night view with such a lovely lady as her.

   No matter how uncomfortable and terrifying it is to be alone with a cruel vampire in the middle of the night, Moon Ryeong has no control over his wish. She still needs him because her dream hasn't come true. She refuses to die in his hands because she rejects his will. As a result, she can only bow her head as a sign that she agrees to accompany him on his nighttime walk.

   Helios leads Moon Ryeong on a walk through the hills' empty large field. There are a lot of fireflies, which turn the scary scene into something beautiful. In the middle of the field, there is also a dark lake. They were walking silently side by side in an awkward atmosphere.

  "What exactly do you want to report to me?" Helios finally asks her when they arrive at the lake. Moon Ryeong says nothing and takes the flyer she received from her knight earlier. She hands it over to him.

   "Hah! Nonsense!" Helios's expression darkened as he read the flyer's contents. He crumpled the paper before tossing it into the lake. Moon Ryeong tells him the same thing her knight told her about the flyer.

  "What would you do now?" she asks the enraged vampire.

   "What else is there? Of course, I'd track down the letter writer and subject him to the wonderful, unforgettable death "He smirks as he imagines a cruel way to torture his adversary. Moon Ryeong stared at him silently, gulping her saliva. She has no idea what will happen to the person who made the flyer once Helios captures whoever he is.

   "Why? Are you scared of me?" Helios smiles and walks closer.

    "No, sir," she says politely, bowing her head. Helios was pleased to hear her response. He adores her. The vampire grasps her arm with both hands and pulls her closer to him.

   Moon Ryeong is taken aback when he suddenly pulls her in for a hug and kiss. What surprised her the most was when she suddenly felt a heavy sensation and pain in her chest. The same pain she experienced earlier in the day. She tries unsuccessfully to avoid coughing in front of him. Her blood splashes on Helios's face as she coughs even harder than before.

   Helios automatically shows his fangs when he smells the sweet scent of her blood. As his eyes change colors, his predator instinct awakens. He can't stop himself from directly tasting her blood. Moon Ryeong continues to cough, causing her blood to soak her clothes and Helios. The vampire instinctively draws her neck closer, ready to sink his fangs into her white skin.

  Meanwhile, Moon Ryeong's father, Minister Choi, is alone in his personal chamber. He was reading a report about his treasure when his door slammed open and a gust of wind blew out the candles in his room. His room immediately went completely dark.

   When he turns his gaze to the front door, he sees a tall man appear, holding a young woman in his arm. His stare is lethal. Blood is spashling around his face, and there is some blood on his sharp fang. The minister quickly recognizes him as Helios, his master. But what surprises him the most is that he recognizes the woman who is lying on the vampire's embrace. Choi Moon Ryeong's body is limp, and her lips have turned blue. Her clothes were soaked in blood. Did the vampire murder her?
