"That's not true, my lord; he's just a regular guy who happened to save me before. I just want to thank him for being polite because he happens to be my acquitance's son...." Moon Ryeong is attempting to explain Lee Yoon's true identity to Helios without disclosing the truth to the vampire.
The great and cruel vampire tilts his head and stares at Moon Ryeong with his icy piercing gaze, while Moon Ryeong attempts to persuade him to believe in her. Finally, Helios releases Moon Ryeong's chin, giving the girl a huge relief in her chest, allowing her to breathe normally again.
"How are you feeling right now?" Helios's rage fades when Moon Ryeong convinces him that the previous man, whom he hasn't even seen, isn't important to her. Now he remembers why he traveled all the way there to see her, to check on her health.
"Thank you, my lord, my health is gradually improving as time passes." Moon Ryeong demonstrates her polite demeanor by bowing to the vampire. He appears relieved that the girl is no longer in critical condition.
"If it's enough to recover here, then return to the capital as soon as possible." Helios gives her a direct order to return to the capital and accompany him there. He dislikes it when they are separated by significant distances.
Moon Ryeong was surprised to hear his order; she had a plan that she needed to carry out here, and returning to the capital right now would mean that her plan would be futile. Helios is ready to go and motions for Moon Ryeong to follow.
"My lord!" Moon Ryeong call out at the vampire, prompting the vampire to turn around and look at her.
"To be honest, I heard a rumour that there is a man who never shows his face during the day at Jeolla-do, and people assume he is a vampire." Moon Ryeong came up with the idea after racking her brain.
"What exactly do you mean?" Helios inquires, suspiciously.
"Kim Sung Gi is at Jeolla-do, he is somewhere here," Helios is taken aback by her responses. He hadn't heard anything about his sworn enemy in a long time. It is good news for Helios that he has discovered his whereabouts and will be able to find and kill him. In response to the news, he smiles cruelly.
"I will locate him and bring Kim Sung Gi to the capital, so you can rest assured and return. The true king of Joseon should not leave the capital for an extended period of time. There are a lot of rats there who will be happy if you don't return and will take advantage of this "The lady goes on.
Helios thinks about Moon Ryeong's suggestion for a moment before nodding. She was correct. If he leaves the capital for an extended period of time, the king of Joseon, who is considered his servant, may stage a rebellion against the vampire in order to free his country from the vampire's control. The king would try anything to prevent the vampire from returning. That would never be acceptable to Helios. He still doesn't believe the palace's family will always be loyal to him. As a result, he must exercise caution. He doesn't believe any human will be loyal to him, but he wishes the girl in front of him would.
"Make certain that you will keep your word," Helios decides. He will allow Moon Ryeong to stay in order for her to complete her mission of locating Kim Sung Gi for him.
But what he doesn't realize is that Moon Ryeong doesn't want to tell Helios anything about Kim Sung Gi. Unfortunately, her current circumstances forced her to do so in order to complete her mission. For that, she must make a small sacrifice. Helios, for one, is still unaware that the man she was speaking with earlier is Lee Yoon, the crown prince. She must keep this from the vampire.
Helios approaches Moon Ryeong and extends his hand, forcing the girl to look him in the eyes. His hand moved down from Moon Ryeong's upper face to her chin, leaving only a thin space between his palm and her cheek. He is attempting to touch her face but restrains himself. He examines every detail of her face before lowering his palm.
"Then I'm going," he said. He vanished in a flash, leaving a gust of wind in his wake.
After his departure, Moon Ryeong remains motionless. She has an uneasy feeling. It's been a while since the cruel vampire has acted like that around her. Through his actions, he is attempting to convince something that he may not even be aware of. But Moon Ryeong can only hope that her assumption is incorrect.
The night has turned into a bright day, and Moon Ryeong is staring at the bright sun with an uneasy feeling. She wonders deep within her mind. Was the vampire already in his cave in the capital, safe from the sun's rays? She is well aware of the great distance between Jeolla-do and the capital. With his speed, how long does Helios need to travel to the capital? She can't help but be worried about it.
"I heard there was a festival tonight; the show must be spectacular." When Moon Ryeong's female attendant notices her master's gloominess, she strikes up a conversation.
"A festival?" Moon Ryeong's gaze shifts to the female attendees. The younger girl begins to promote the festival and persuade Moon Ryeong to attend. The lady's attention is drawn away from the topic when she notices Lee Yoon approaching her, accompanied by his guard, who is dressed in commoners' garb. An idea had just occurred to her.
"My lord,"s he begins. Moon Ryeong politely greets the undercover crown prince. Lee Yoon returns her greeting with a smile.
"I apologize for abruptly leaving last night. I'd like to compensate you for my immodesty. Would you give me the opportunity to do so? If you reject my offer, I will be very upset." Moon Ryeong is attempting to persuade the crown prince to accept her offer without appearing to force him to do so.
"I'm really fine, lady... But if there is anything I can do to help you bear your burden, I will try " Lee Yoon responds politely. Moon Ryeong's smile is genuine.
"Then please accompany me to the festival. I'd like to make amends for a misunderstanding between us "She stated. For a while, the crown prince appears hesitant. But, in the end, he can't refuse her request because it's not a big deal. As a result, he agrees to accompany her.
They have a good time at the festival and develop a friendship. There have been many things that have brought them closer together since that time. That which is included in Moon Ryeong's secret plan.
Moon Ryeong has returned to the capital after months away. That day, Helios summons her to pay him a visit. The vampire is sitting on his personal throne, watching the girl approach him and greet him politely.
"The crown prince has finally arrived to greet me and pledge his allegiance. Heh, that feeble human. He must do so from the start. So, in order to keep his loyalty in my hands, I have ordered him to hold a royal marriage soon, so get ready "The vampire notifies her.
Moon Ryeong was well aware that this would occur gradually. Everything is meticulously planned by her. She successfully paved the way for herself to become the next queen by marrying the crown prince who will lead the country. The girl respectfully bows to the vampire.
"However... Do you really want to do that?" Helios rises from his throne and descends the stairs. He moved closer to Moon Ryeong, standing tall in front of her.
"I will do anything to put your mind at ease, my lord. I know the crown prince's loyalty has been bothering you for a while... I'll turn into a tool to secure your position." She responds politely, lowering her gaze. Helios has grown very close to her.
"If you really want invincible power, you can gain more than just being a queen." Helios places his palm on her shoulder, causing Moon Ryeong to flinch.
"Instead of becoming a queen to a weak king, I will give you my power. Instead, why don't you try to become my woman?" The vampire tenderly strokes Moon Ryeong's cheecks as he asks her to be his lover.Moon Ryeong take a deep breath.
"All I want to do is become a powerful human." The girl emphasizes her word while looking straight into Helios's eyes, demonstrating her determination.
"Human?" When Helios hears her mention it, he laughs. Moon Ryeong expresses her desire to be a human and expresses her dissatisfaction with any other creature. She flatly refuses Helios's proposal, stating that she will never become his lover.
Helios pushes Moon Ryeong's body away from her on her shoulder, his eyes turning chilly. His jaw clenched. She simply rejects him. As a result, he no longer wishes to see her there. She tells the girl to go. His chest was filled with something hard and heavy. A pitiful sensation that he would never forget whenever Moon Ryeong showed rejection to him.
He feels the same way when he sees her mourning for her late husband on the lake in the forest right now. Moon Ryeong's refusal to be his lover is not merely because of a power, but because of love. Helios learns that Moon Ryeong is in love with the late King Lee Yoon. That is why she never looks in his direction and rejects his feelings. That fact stung him to the bone.
Moon Ryeong is sitting by herself on the edge of a ravine near a waterfall. She is staring at the sky silently, her face expressionless after wiping away her tears. When Helios approaches, she becomes aware of his presence, her expression changes, and her hatred eyes return. She stood up quickly, as if she didn't want to spend any more time with him in that location.
"You appear to enjoy the sky. Why are you refusing to continue?" Helios inquired, his voice deep and husky. He approached Moon Ryeong and took a seat next to her.
"It's getting darker when you're around," Moon Ryeong said coldly.
"I guess you really despise my existence then," Helios said dryly, trying to hide his pain.
"Do you think my hatred for you will vanish one night? It will be with me for the rest of my life " Moon Ryeong turned around, wanting to walk away.
"Then why don't you just kill me when you have the opportunity?" Helios asks on purpose to keep her from walking away.
"Why did you even save my life if you hate me that much?" Helios adds. He is curious as to why she is caring for him and treating all of his scars. Is there any concern in her heart for him? He was extremely curious.
Moon Ryeong turned around to face Helios. She caught a glimpse of hope in his eyes as she looked at him. She knew him too well, too well to know what he was thinking right now just by looking into his eyes, but she decided she didn't care. She gives him a cynical smile and a cold stare.
"Wae geurae (What's the matter)? Do you wish I'd say I did it because I cared about you? Are you not?" Helios was smirked at by Moon Ryeong. he does not respond, instead staring at her silently. There's a twinge of pain in his eyes, and her words slash a deep wound in his heart, but he won't say anything about that.
"I intend to torture you with my hatred. I want you to know how much I despise you for the rest of your life. Didn't you turn me into a vampire to accompany your pathetic life? You want me to stay by your side, right?" Moon Ryeong, putting all of the salts on Helios's deep fresh wound, asked heartlessly.
It's not like she doesn't notice Helios's feelings for her, or that she doesn't understand his desire to win her heart. She is aware of his feelings for her, but why should she care? She is aware that she has grown cold toward him, but he is the one who has caused her to become so. At least, that's what she wants to think about him.
"The only reason I want to keep you alive is to show you how miserable your life will be with me by your side. When I'm around you, I just want to make your dark and pathetic life more tragic and meaningless. I'll show you how much I despise you and convince you that it's better if you just kill me for the first time. I will exhaust and frustrate you with your life to the point where you want to kill me with your own hand or kill yourself." Moon Ryeong fixed her gaze on his face to observe his expression.
Helios was just gritting his teeth to keep his emotions in check as he listened to everything Moon Ryeong said. It hurt because it felt like his heart was being squeezed hardly.
When Helios does not respond, Moon Ryeong simply laughs sarcastically. She then turned around to continue her walk, but Helios quickly approached her and grabbed her hand. Bring her body to face him and place her wrist in front of their faces.
"Do you think I really want you that much?" Helios asked coldly. Moon Ryeong does not respond and simply smiles coldly at him. Helios pulls her wrist harder, causing her body to bounce forward, while Helios approaches Moon Ryeong and stares into her eyes.
Moon Ryeong lowered her gaze in an attempt to avoid his gaze. While Moon Ryeong's eyes were focused on avoiding Helios's, his gaze was fixed on Moon Ryeong's lip. She has no idea how powerful the desire in his heart is that he is constantly attempting to control. He lowered his face and moved in for a kiss, but Moon Ryeong turned her head to the side.
Helios's desire is out of control. He pulls her face in his direction and kisses her lips firmly. He tightened his grip on her wrist and drew her head closer to share the kiss. He had a strong desire to kiss her before, but he always tried to resist. When he fixed his desire to kiss her the other time, he should have been surprised when she refused the first time. But now he can't suppress his emotions and must let his desire guide his actions.
Moon Ryeong is taken aback by his kiss. Helios gives her a firm but gentle kiss. When he treats her, she knows he always has a gentle side. When he touches her, it appears that he is always careful not to hurt her. Perhaps no one will ever believe that this monster has such a gentle touch. But Moon Ryeong will not return his kiss and will close her lips tightly for him.
She will not try to enjoy the kiss while keeping her eyes open. Her heart is pounding faster, and she is frowning as it does. She dislikes the kiss, but she has no desire to resist or push him away. She is perplexed by her heartbeat; is it pounding because she despises it or because of something else? She doesn't understand, so she remains silent and remains motionless. She simply let him kiss her in his own way, keeping her lips closed and her eyes open without moving.
