Chapter 4 A Futile Concern

Chapter 4 A Futile Concern

Moon Ryeong continues to cough up blood, triggering Helios's vampire instinct to desperately seek her sweet blood. The vampire has spent the entire time trying to convince himself that he should not taste her blood, no matter how sweet her scent is. There is no other human around him with a sweeter blood scent than her. He has to try not to bite her neck, but when her blood splashes out on its own and wets his skin, the vampire provokes.

Helios was staring at Moon Ryeong's white neck, which had visible red venous vessels. Helios's red pupil eyes dilate as his murdoreous instinct awakens. Something he is very fond of. Helios emerges to bite her neck, and a fresh blood splash can be seen dripping Moon Ryeong's neck. The girl collapses and falls into Helios's embrace. However, there is no sign of a bitten wound on her white neck. Helios was biting his own lips in an attempt to control his desire to drink her blood. Because he bites his self so hard, his blood splashes on her neck.

"Moon Ryeong-ah..." Helios's eyes return to their original colors as he regains consciousness after the woman passes out in his arms. With a deep hoarse voice, he calls her name. When he notices Moon Ryeong's lip has turned blue, he becomes terrified.

The vampire quickly supports her body and draws her petite figure closer to his chest. Without a second thought, Helios dashed towards Choi's mansion in search of treatment for the woman in his embrace. His mind is racing with the possibility of losing her. As a result, he can't do anything logically or quickly. He simply crashed through the gate and infiltrated the mansion. The full speed ahead of his movement has created a large wind. He went straight to Minister Choi's private room.

"Call a doctor right away!! Right now!" Minister Choi was stunned and just stared at him. The panicked vampire started yelling angrily at his lack of movement. They don't have time to waste because Moon Ryeong requires immediate treatment.

"Ye...yes... My lord," Minister Choi staggers from his seat. Helios's anger and frustration scares him until he drives away from his stunned state. If Helios orders him to summon a doctor for Moon Ryeong, it means that his daughter is still alive.

Minister Choi briefly examined Moon Ryeong's neck and found no evidence of her being bitten by the vampire. It appears that his daughter did not faint as a result of Helios's bite; there must be something else wrong with her. The minister immediately directed his servant to find a doctor for his daughter.

Minister Choi escorted the vampire to Moon Ryeong's room so she could rest comfortably and be examined by the doctor there. The minister orders his other servant to take Moon Ryeong to the chamber so as not to burden the vampire, but Helios refuses any assistance and insists on carrying Moon Ryeong himself. He does not want anyone to touch her for fear of further injuring her. As a result, Minister Choi reluctantly allowed the vampire to continue holding his daughter's body.

They quickly make a bed for Moon Ryeong, and Helios finally puts her to sleep in it. He places her delicately and carefully, as if a quick movement could break her fragile figure. Minister Choi carefully observes the vampire expression. Even though his face is straight and serious, he appears to be worried through his eyes. The sight of the vampire causes Minister Choi to frown. It's unusual for a cruel vampire like him to be concerned about a mere human like his daughter.

"Her lungs appear to be severely damaged. I'm preparing some medicine for her, but I believe it's best if she's transferred to a location with fresh, clean air. Staying in nature and avoiding humid environments would be beneficial to her health "After carefully examining Moon Ryeong's condition, the doctor stated.

When the doctor arrives, Helios is sitting on the table, staring intently at Moon Ryeong. His actions make the doctor nervous, and he avoids his gaze. He is unaware that Helios is the infamously cruel vampire that everyone is talking about. However, seeing his lethal gaze causes the doctor to experience severe goosebumps. He must repeatedly observe and seek Moon Ryeong's pulse, but he fails due to his fear of Helios. But no one is brave enough to tell the vampire to leave.

"What caused it to occur? She has always appeared to be in good health "Minister Choi consults with the doctor. He is taken aback when he learns about his daughter's condition. Previously, she did not appear to be ill.

"There are numerous factors that could have resulted in this occurrence. However, the majority of it was caused by the high humidity around her. It usually causes wet lungs. Do you think the mistress spends a lot of time every day without getting much sun and fresh air? "The doctor inquires cautiously.

His question draws the minister's attention to Helios. True, Moon Ryeong spends most of her time in the vampire's dark and humid cave. Furthermore, there is no fresh air and the air is tainted with a strong odor of blood. The doctor's explanation is relevant to this.

"It is impossible to become this severe in such a short period of time. If she coughs up blood, it simply means that her condition is severe and that it has taken years for her to reach this point." The doctor goes on.

"All right, you can go now." Minister Choi dismisses the doctor and orders him to leave the room. After the doctor left, minister Choi returned his attention to Helios.

"My lord, it appears that we must temporarily remove Moon Ryeong from the capital for her health. What are your thoughts?" The minister politely inquired of the vampire. Helios fixed his gaze on Moon Ryeong's sleeping face, not looking in the minister's direction.

"Just leave for the time being. When she wakes up, I'll ask her opinion "Instead, the vampire does not make a clear choice. He is actually reluctant to let her leave him. That is why he is avoiding making any decisions for the time being.

"Yes?" Minister Choi is baffled by the vampire instruction. If he leaves, won't the vampire and his daughter be left alone in this room? What is the vampire scheme?

"I told you to go." Helios emphasizes his words and uses a pressed tone to intimidate the minister to leave them alone. Even though minister Choi dislikes not being able to make decisions for his own daughter, he is powerless to stop the monster. As a result, he is only able to politely retreat.

Helios remained motionless after the minister's departure, staring at Moon Ryeong's pale expression. He never took his gaze away from her for even a second. The vampire accompanied Moon Ryeong for hours with a lot on his mind.

"Uhuk uhuk!" Moon Ryeong's severe cough has slowly woken her up.

Helios, who witnessed the incident, quickly approached the young woman and assisted her by tapping her shoulders to support her petite frame. He has to hold his breath so that the scent of her blood does not trigger his vampire instinct. Helios takes a handkerchief and cleans her bloody lip after her cough is finished.

"Oh, my lord!" Moon Ryeong is taken aback when she discovers that Helios is the one accompanying and assisting her. Her eyes are wide open as she notices him in her private room.

Helios smiles as she greets him. He takes the medicine prepared by the doctor for Moon Ryeong and gives it to the young woman to drink. He raises it to her lips, wanting to assist her with the medicine, but his kind gesture makes Moon Ryeong hesitant to drink it. Why should she drink the medicine with his assistance? As a result, she weakly lifts her hand and pulls the bowl away from him. Helios, who believes Moon Ryeong doesn't understand his intentions, refuses to let go of the bowl. Which make Moon Ryeong lets out a long sigh.

"My lord, would you please allow me to drink my medicine?" she politely requests. He just stares at her, but she doesn't change her expression. As a result, he decides to let her drink the medicine on her own, despite the fact that he dislikes the idea of her doing so.

"The doctor advised you to stay somewhere with fresh air for your recovery treatment. He advises you to leave the capital, which I disagree with "Helios expresses his thoughts on her condition, while Moon Ryeong simply listens silently and without comment.

"But... As much as I despise the idea of you leaving, I despise watching you die here even more." He stares deeply into her eyes, as if he's attempting to convince Moon Ryeong of his feelings for her. Moon Ryeong noticed something unusual in his gaze, something he had never shown anyone else before.

"You stated that you would give your life to serve me. But what are you going to do with that frail body? As a result, I must permit you to depart for your recuperation. What are your thoughts?" Finally, he solicits her opinion.

"I would never question your decision, my lord," she says politely, bowing to show her regard for him. It draws a thin smile from the corner of his lips."Do you have a suitable place in mind for your treatment?" the vampire inquired once more. Moon Ryeong is quiet for a few moments as she carefully considers his offer. Now is her chance to do whatever she wants.

"Jeolla-do, I've heard, has a lot of beautiful places. Can I continue to live in that province? "She inquires cautiously. Of course, she chooses the location with a different goal that Helios is unaware of. But she must tread carefully so that the vampire agrees without becoming suspicious of her.

"Go ahead and stay there if you really want, you can come back to the capital whenever you want," he decides. Moon Ryeong expresses his gratitude politely. Her lips form a thin smile that the vampire does not recognize.

Helios orders her to take another rest after they reach an agreement. She must prepare herself to leave early in the morning. The sooner she leaves, the better for her health. Helios is still sitting next to her, watching the young woman fall asleep.

Helios can't help but feel a wrecking feeling inside his chest when he thinks about her leaving him alone once the sun rises. He doesn't understand why it hurts him so much to let her go. His eyes are filled with fear at the prospect. The vampire's gaze is drawn to Moon Ryeong's hand. He looks at her delicate hand for a moment before carefully taking her hands in his palm.

Helios holds her hand tenderly with both of his hands, stroking it with his thumbs. He shifts his gaze to her sleeping face and keeps a close eye on her. When he notices that Moon Ryeong's complexion has improved, he smiles. He then extended his right hand to touch her cheeks, but it stopped in mid-air. Finally, he pulls his hand back without ever touching her face.

The memory of Helios tender's gaze as he stares on her causes Moon Ryeong, who lifts and sways the sunsa knife strongly to his chest, to stop just an inch above his body. She recalls him staring at her with that distinctive feature expression, conveying a feeling he never verbalized to her. She recalls him trying to tenderly touch her cheek but always holding back due to her rejection. She is unable to kill him.

Moon Ryeong examines his body, which is riddled with scars from the sunsa knife and bullets. While he is still unconscious, she stares at his pale face and all the blood on his clothes. With his condition, she couldn't possibly hurt him any more. She shook her head and pretended not to care about his current state. This vampire has brought about her doom. She closed her eyes and raised the knife again, intending to stab him, but the knife simply stopped in the air. Moon Ryeong closed her eyes and bit her bottom lip. She then simply drops the knife to the ground.

"He'll die without me killing him if I just leave him like this," Moon Ryeong reasoned. She just stared at his pale face, expressionless, and spent the night sitting next to him, doing nothing but watching him in pain.
