Accompanied by a cheerful and melodious march, Darlene, in a white evening dress, looked as proud as a white swan as she held the arm of the handsome Liam and slowly walked onto the stage.
They smiled and behaved intimately, presenting a picture-perfect couple on the stage. Many guests praised their beauty, calling them a perfect match. Liam’s parents, beaming with pride, were thrilled by the compliments.
To them, Darlene was the ideal bride for Liam. Andrea was nothing in comparison.
As Emily basked in the proud moment, the screen on the stage began playing a sweet short video of Liam and Darlene. The video started with their photos, depicting their indescribable love and happiness.
But then, it suddenly changed. The screen showed everything that had happened between Liam and me over the past year. The video revealed how I had gradually transformed him from a poor boy into a business elite.
He looked full of energy, his face flushed with excitement. Now, it all seemed like a ridiculous joke.
As the couple on the stage panicked and the guests murmured amongst themselves, I sneered.
Liam’s parents, who had been so complacent moments before, were now furious and cursing. The ones with the ugliest expressions, however, were Darlene’s parents.
Most of the guests present were their relatives and friends, and they felt deeply ashamed that such a scandal had erupted at their wedding announcement banquet.
Immediately, they looked around for hotel staff, shouting, “Turn it off! Turn off the video quickly!”
“It’s unnecessary.”
I stood up at just the right moment, causing all the guests to gasp in surprise.
The most horrified one was Liam. His stunned expression seemed to say, "The door was locked, how did she get out?"
Emily reacted faster than him, rushing onto the stage in a frenzy.
“Get out of here, bitch! I’ll kill you! You’ve ruined Liam’s birthday!”
