Chase swerves the truck around a corner so sharply the truck went on two wheels for a second, I hear Alfie curse from the back telling him he's an idiot, without actually telling him. I was reading through the file my father gave me telling the guys the important parts, such as what people saw, how many traps they've found and what kind of traps they think they found. I was just reading through the information on the Alpha, his Beta, and other high-ranking members. The Alpha's name was Myles Maddox, he took over the pack from his father when he was only fifteen, whoa that's quite young. It doesn't seem like he's found his mate yet, but it didn't have much information other than that, great I'm gonna have to find out on the spot which I just love doing, note the sarcasm.

"We're nearly there" Chase tells me looking over for a second, I just nod closing the file getting ready "whoa it looks quite big" he says as we reach the border, which didn't have many guards stationed outside, first mistake.

"In the file it says it's the second biggest pack in the country" I inform them which means it's gonna be huge, we have so much land to cover here. I wonder how long we’ll be on this case for.

"And they've only got that many border guards who let us straight in, wow this ones gonna be hard, we ain't gonna get no down time for awhile" Rich groans from the backseat, he deals with a lot of the security issues when we enter to help a pack, everyone in the team has different roles to play which makes the job much more efficient.

"Even if it wasn't this bad, like I'd let you have much downtime" I smirk looking back at him, he raises an eyebrow also smirking at me.

"Oh yeah Alaia, you always be keeping me busy" he winks playfully, me and him always flirt back and forth like this, it's not real though.

"Oh, just make out already!" Aston exclaims annoyed making us laugh, but soon what resembled a pack house came into view.

The thing standing out to me being here was the whole place was empty, it was just deserted. Normally, when you arrive in a pack all the pack members stay around the pack house. That is like the melting pot, it’s a place where all the pack members feel safe and will stay.

This tells me either the pack doesn’t feel connected in some way, or there’s some rule that they aren’t allowed here. Both are troubling points, which need to be addressed. We all give each other a look before getting out the car, Chase had the key dangling in his hands which Alfie immediately took. They were about to start arguing but people start to make their way out the building, around 3 men begin to walk down the steps, they must have seen us pull up.

As we inch closer, one of them stands out to me. We lock eyes where the entire world seems to stop, none of the guys were around me anymore, it felt as though me and this guy were the only people left on the planet. He had the greenest eyes I've ever seen that made it impossible to look away from, he was so incredible hot too! He mumbles a word which I couldn't catch but it did snap me out my trance, I look away turning my attention to the guys who were studying the guys in front, luckily, they hadn’t caught on to what was happening then.

"Hello, we're from W.P.A" I say as they all come to a stop in front of me, now the mysterious guy was much closer to me than before, I felt this magnetic pull towards him, my body wanting nothing more than to be touching his, what the heck is happening?!

"Hello, I'm Alpha Myles Maddox, this is my Beta Adam, my Gamma Terry and my lead fighter Carl" he says his voice sending intense shivers to run down my spine, this only drawing me even closer to the man.

"I'm Alaia Buckwood and this is my team, Chase, Rich, Jeff, Tubbs, Joey, Aston, Alfie and Justin" I smile pointing to the guys who wave, but I knew they were getting a feel for what these guys are "I wish we were meeting under better circumstances, but we're here to help anyway we can" I smile at the Alpha, whose smile hadn't left his face yet, I liked it.

"Yes, please follow us to my office" he smiles turning around, I send a look to the guys before slowly following the men towards the building, but a bad feeling starts to make its way through me. With the job I do, I knew I couldn’t ignore the feeling.

"Hang on, just to be safe I want Aston, Chase and Joey to wait here, Alfie, Justin and Jeff to start doing a mini perimeter, while Rich and Tubbs come with me, is that alright?" I ask looking at the guys, they all nod saying yes boss before getting on.

I turn back around to look at the Alpha who was smiling at me looking kind of proud and kind of surprised, I get that reaction a lot for being a girl boss.

"We're all yours" I smile getting back on track, he nods with a smirk agreeing with me.

He turns around once again leading us into the building, while entering I swear, I heard someone say.

“You definitely are”
