Chapter 10

Chapter 10

"Since he has a habit of sleeping with other people's daughters, now it's time he faced the consequences himself."

"I don't think that's a good idea," Christian suggested. "Ethlyn might not approve of this. Shouldn't it be her decision?"

"She's not conscious to make that decision. And I'm making this choice as her mother. I don't want to keep that child. Hell, I don't even want to see her face. Since she can't stay with her mother, she'll stay with her father."

"But what if that Alpha refuses to take her or doesn't accept her as his daughter?"

"I don't care. That will be the pup's destiny, then. I'll feel sorry for her." Abigail's hatred for her granddaughter was evident. Christian didn't want to support her decision, but he also didn't want his granddaughter in an environment where she wouldn't be treated well. He entrusted the decision to the Moon Goddess, who knew what was best for every pup.

Christian contemplated all of this while standing outside Ethlyn's room. Five years had passed since that incident. Only he knew that he had silently kept tabs on Calvin to ensure he cared for his granddaughter properly. He felt proud of Abigail's wrong decision, which had turned out to be the right one for their granddaughter.

He smiled as he thought about Roselet, whom he had encountered twice as a stranger.

'I don't know what to tell you about your daughter, Ethlyn,' he thought.

Hope for Ethlyn's recovery had waned until they heard about the new neurologist, Laira Wayne, at the Black Council. She was the youngest neurologist in the werewolf world, a surprising accomplishment for a rogue. Her presence at the Black Council was due to her mate. Born and raised in both the pack and human worlds, Christian wanted to cling to even the smallest chance of Ethlyn's recovery.

After two failed attempts, Laira's treatment began showing positive effects. Abigail and Christian wanted to express their gratitude personally when Ethlyn finally emerged from her coma. However, their excitement turned to shock upon learning the full name of the neurologist treating Ethlyn: Laira Daisy Haysbert Wayne.

Quickly, Abigail suggested relocating Ethlyn from the Black Council's hospital to their own pack's facility. She didn't want Ethlyn's past to haunt her anymore, especially now that she was awake after years. Nathan bore no grudges about the past, and Abigail envisioned a future where they could be together once more.

It seems like she is not going to open her eyes in your presence," Reva commented irritably.

"Really? I didn't know you were the next pack doctor," Nathan retorted, getting up from his seat. "Stay if you want; I have other matters to attend to."

"I have other matters to attend to," Reva mimicked after he left. "Dad, why are you standing out there? Come in," she urged.

'How could I meet Ethlyn's gaze if she wakes up now and asks about her pup? What will I say?' Christian pondered.

"Daddddd," Reva exclaimed.

"Dad," Ethlyn whispered, causing Reva's eyes to widen. She turned to check if Ethlyn had really heard her voice. Reva broke into a wide smile as she noticed Ethlyn attempting to open her eyes after a twelve-hour sleep.

"Dad, Ethlyn's looking for you," Reva happily announced, and Christian walked into the room. "If I had known that shouting 'DAD' and sending Alpha Nathan would wake you up, I would have done it much sooner." Reva chatted with her sister, who had managed to half-open her eyes by then.

"Where... where is my... pup?" Ethlyn asked the first question that Christian wasn't expecting her to ask.
