The sound of the alarm clock woke Victoria out of her sleep, shielding her eyes from the light that was coming through the window she made her way to the bathroom, where she splashed some water on her face.

She was shocked, when she took in her appearance in the mirror, she was still in her dress but more shocked when she realised she was actually in her room, and not remembering getting here on her own, She face palmed herself as she realized maybe Eric or his driver had brought her in, as she vividly remembered falling asleep due to the slow music the driver had been playing.

After few minutes of feeling embarrassed, she decided to take her bath and screamed out loud, when she realized that she was late for work.

After rushing, and cursing, and shouting, and dropping, and throwing things Victoria was finally ready and out of the house, she waved for the taxi approaching and quickly buttoned up her jack cause of the cold.

When the taxi stopped in front of her, she hurriedly got into it, and almost immediately her cell phone ranged.

'Hello'

'Good morning Vi, where the hell are you! the board meeting is about to start!' Alexa said half screaming into the phone, causing Victoria to remove the phone from her ear.

'I am on my way Alex I over slept please stall them a little I am almost there'

'Fine! You've got five minutes'

'Thanks al you a darling'

'Whatever'.

Few minutes later they arrived at the Xavier cooperation building, Victoria quickly got down from the car after paying the taxi driver. She hurriedly signed in and apologized for not going through the security protocol.

Running to her office she quickly collected the files she needed and left for the board room which was on the executive floor.

When the elevator signalled that she had reached her destination, she ran to the board room saying a silent thanks you to the heaven that she wore flats today.

"Good morning ladies and gentleman, my apologies for coming late” she said.

"Victoria see me in my office right now" Eric said leaving the board room, causing everyone to stare at him and a startled Victoria.

She forced a fake smile on her face and excused herself apologizing in the process.

When she opened the door to his office she came in contact with a furious Eric.

"Good morning sir"

"What's good about the morning Victoria?" Eric said angrily.

The sight of Victoria caused some certain emotions to flood into Eric, throughout the night he couldn't sleep, the thought of only her in that house bothered him.

And she coming in late to the office annoyed him, how could she be his wife to be and show such unserious attitude.

"I am so sorry for coming late I never meant to come in late today"

"Victoria you are supposed to be a role model to others! You are my wife!"

"I am sorry sir"

"Sir? You are my wife Victoria I don't expect you to call me sir and neither do I expect you to come in late I would not tolerate such nonsense from you"

"Okay please stop yelling"

"Leave my office"

Victoria left his office and went back to the board room for her presentation. Through the meeting Eric eyes never left her, everyone noticed he was staring at her but not in a romantic way or whatsoever.

"This meeting is adjourned till after my wedding" Eric said startling and surprising everyone in the room.

"Yes I am getting married and my wife to be is Victoria Valeria Christopher, our wedding would be holding next week everyone is invited" with that said he left the room.

Victoria hurriedly packed her things and left the room avoiding any questions from the board members.

Throughout the day everyone kept staring at her, whispering or with angry faces, while some shook their head in disappointment.

Tony on the other hand didn't even bother to talk to her when he saw her, Victoria realized she hadn't said anything to him since yesterday, so she decided to talk to him.

"Hi can I come in?" She said nervously at the door of his office.

"Yes you can" Tony replied giving her the coldest look she had ever seen on him.

He really was angry at her she could tell, She took the seat opposite his, and started playing with her fingers not knowing where to start from, She had never seen her bestie this cold towards her as he went back to whatever he was doing ignoring her.

"Tony I know you've heard about what's going on, and I am sure you are angry that I was engaged to Mr Eric all this while and not tell you... The truth is I didn't know how to..."

"Please Vi just stop, stop lying right now, of course I know you were never engaged to him, the heck I've been your friend all your life way before we met Alexa and I know you, my anger with you is that you didn't even bothered to tell me what's happening and right now you have the courage to lie to my face!" Tony said getting angrier with every word he spoke that at the end he was already shouting at her.

"I am sorry Tony it just happened, he just threw it at my face giving me no choice, I didn't even know what to do, everything is just happening so fast" Victoria said and broke down in tears.

she hated that her friends were angry at her, Tony had never raised his voice at her and today he did, and to top it all she came here just to lie to him in the beginning and she felt filthy for that .So all the tears came running down her face.

"C'mon vi, you don't need to cry you know I can't stand seeing you cry, I am sorry I raised my voice OK, I never meant to I just was so upset with you that you have a problem and you didn't tell me, what are friends for?" He said patting her back.

"I am so happy I have you in my life Tony, to think I thought of lying to you, I feel so horrible" Victoria said face palming herself.

"Enough of the drama now tell me what is really going on"
