Chapter 4 Betrayed

Chapter 4 Betrayed

Lauren's POV

"Can you chill? You should know that I don't want a thing with her when I keep posting about her dead parents. My boss at work seemed interested in the case but I made sure to divert his attention from it. If I take up that job she would keep gluing to me and I hate her guts,” George professed and laughed.

I didn't know when I slumped but someone caught me. I looked at Lana like a dying woman while she looked at me sadly.

"That's good because I wouldn't want her trying to get close to you again," Mimi chimed in.

"Don't worry, I've made sure she will get what she deserves,” George added.

"But…"

"Just shut up and give me what you know how to do best." Her laughter rang through the room and it struck like thunder in my body. I vibrated like a nearly destroyed machine.

"C'mon give it to me since that bi*ch couldn't!"

"Hmmm, you are so sweet, Mimi! I f**king love you!"

George's voice filled with lust rang like a bell in my ears. Tears flowed down my cheek as I couldn't believe that this could be happening.

"This is a dream right?" I asked Lana who hugged me.

"Let's go," Lana whispered to me.

But I was reluctant to go. I wanted to see for myself that I was dreaming. They would never hurt me like this. I trust them so much.

I released myself from Lana's hug and burst into the mysterious lying room. This should be the time I wake up from my dream state.

I saw two naked people on the bed and it happened to be my best friend and my boyfriend. On sighting me, they also seemed shocked. They must have thought that I was taken away already.

"George, Mimi" I called, still looking shocked.

Now I knew it was the reality, I wasn't dreaming at all. My 10-year-old relationship boyfriend and my best friend of six years were having sex? Impossible.

"Lauren I can explain," George jumped, wrapping the quilt around himself.

He must have expected me to be waiting like the fool I am at the restaurant he had made reservations for. I had been used to it for 10 good years. My heart hurt like it had been seared with iron.

I held my chest and I cried so loud.

"We didn't mean for you to know this way, Lauren," I heard Mimi say.

I raised my head and looked at her. "We?" I asked her painfully.

"Well, we've been in love for five years now and because George felt so indebted to you, he couldn't tell you. Now you know, just accept it. He would return every dime you have spent on him," she said like I was the pest.

"What!" I exclaimed.

I couldn't believe that for 5 years I'd been cheated and yet they acted like they were the best thing I would ever have. I was so hurt because I trusted them the most. I would have willingly laid down my life for them if they had asked for it. But now, they've shattered that life.

"I'm sorry Lauren I just can't love you anymore," George taunted but I couldn't see any remorse in his eyes.

.

"You don't need to apologize, baby, she knows being friends with us is an advantage to her. Let's get her out of my house and go enjoy her married life," Mimi uttered wickedly and my eyes popped out in shock.

I got married today because of this woman and yet she treats me like this. I knew I had nothing to do because I was truly inferior to them. I can't believe that George was the reason I've never got to reinvestigate my parent's death, yet he kept encouraging me.

Lana came to me and tried pulling me away but I won't leave. I stared at the two hugging each other and looking at me with mockery. Soon Mimi's bodyguards came and started to drag me away. I didn't argue with them, I followed them because I was so weak.

"Wait," Mimi ordered. The bodyguards paused and I didn't even bother to look at her. She loothe me.

"Make sure to pack your things away from my man's house immediately," she snarled and the way she was behaving made me think I was still daydreaming. She used to be a sweet girl but what happened? I've never seen her hurt a fly.

Just then, George walked to me and gave me a credit card. "You can use that to get settled down." He pressed it onto my hands and I threw him a threatening glance before I threw the card to the ground and walked away. They've hurt me so much that I won't take a dime from them even though I'm homeless.

Since college, George and I have been living together and I've done everything for him. When he had nothing, I was the one who worked and fed him. He was able to get the job because I had sneaked into the chief prosecutor's office and put in his CV. I didn't know that the one to whom I gave my life would be the one to destroy it. Now I'm being sold away to an Alpha I never loved. I knew there was a reason the Alpha King wanted to marry someone like me. I became so afraid that my tears flowed like the fountain and headaches visited me like the rush of wind. Death would be the best option for me but I couldn't even die if I wanted to. The bodyguards came to me and pulled me to the car.

This whole thing wasn't funny anymore. That very night I landed in the Black Raven pack which belonged to the Alpha King, there wasn't any reception for me, only that I was thrown into a large room. The room was almost like another house.

If I married the Alpha King, wasn't I supposed to be the Luna Queen but reverse was the case. I was treated like a slave that was just bought.

I saw a large bed and someone lying on it. My heart began to beat faster like it was going to burst out. "Who is lying there?" I asked myself.

Moving closer, the person I saw lying on the bed gave me the shock of my life. The very man I got married to hours ago. Jefferson McDonald.
