The air in the underground cells is always cold.
I stand in the observation room behind one-way glass, watching Liam through the wall. His hands are chained to the floor, ankles shackled, but he’s still smirking like he’s holding all the cards.
He doesn’t look like someone who failed.
He looks like someone who planted something and walked away before it bloomed.
Scar-Cheek steps into the room without ceremony, shutting the metal door behind him.
Liam lifts his head, amused. “So this is the part where I’m tortured, then?”
