Chapter Thirteen — The pear, the glare, and the girl who won't leave my mind
DiCaprio:
I should’ve sent Camila home days ago.
Seven days. That’s how long she’s been floating around the estate like perfume you can’t scrub off. Clingy. Smiling too hard. Laughing at things I never said.
And every time she’s in a room, I can feel Keya shutting down.
This morning’s breakfast? A disaster I didn’t even bother to stop. I watched Camila try to bait her, I watched Keya dismantle her — pear in hand — and I said nothing.
Correction: I couldn’t say anything. I was too damn busy staring.
