The council room is too quiet.
Not that I mind silence. It’s the noise of fools I can’t stand. But today, the stillness has teeth — like the calm before a storm I didn’t see coming.
Scar-Cheek’s words won’t leave my mind.
“They mentioned a last wish. Her mother. Keya’s real one. Something about protecting her legacy... You were right — they know more than they’ve said.”
