Chapter 2 -MPC2

Chapter 2 -MPC2

One month before.

Giselle Anna Maria looked seriously, listening to the business seminar being held by her campus today. How could she not be enthusiastic if the speaker at the event was the person she had idolized?

If most women idolize Korean artists, Giselle is very different. She even considered Leonardo Massen to be a role model in her life.

How could it not be this middle-aged man of Chinese descent has dedicated almost half his life to developing multinational businesses? Everyone knows that Leonardo has been in business since he was 25. Of course, this is a good example. Even Giselle thinks this motivates her to apply it in her life now.

"Instead of learning from the success of others, learn from their failures. Change while you are in your best condition, before bad things arise. It will be too slow to correct fate if a big mistake has already come. Use all your abilities while your potential is at its peak."

The sound of applause immediately resounded after Leonardo conveyed several motivations to all seminar participants. Giselle even wrote down these words in a pocketbook she brought as a reminder and encouragement to achieve her goals.

Giselle's happiness increased when she was selected from hundreds of participants, becoming lucky to get a biography book and signature directly from the idol. Full of confidence, the woman with bangs stepped onto the stage. Doing a photo session and then waiting for the book gift for him to be signed.

However, the atmosphere turned tense when Leonardo suddenly had a seizure in the middle of signing an autograph and fell unconscious. Everyone naturally panicked. Giselle was no exception, standing right in front of Leonardo.

"Mr. Leonardo looks like he's having a heart attack," Giselle shouted at Robin, Leonardo's assistant, who came running over.

Since no one dared to take action, Giselle circled the table without hesitation. Approaching Leonardo's position, lying on the podium floor, she immediately performed CPR (cardiac, pulmonary resuscitation), also known as CPR. This increases the chances of a person experiencing sudden cardiac arrest to survive and avoid brain damage and even death.

While continuing to assist, the medical team finally came to help. They swiftly took him to the hospital, which happened to be located right next to the campus building, where the seminar was being held.

"Mr Leonardo's condition is stable. Luckily what was feared didn't happen. If only he was late to get first aid, he could likely have suffered brain damage," the doctor said to Robin, who was waiting anxiously at the front of the room.

"Can he be visited, Doc?"

The doctor then nodded. "Please. He's even conscious. In a moment we'll move him to the treatment room so he can rest intensively."

When the doctor left, Robin first approached Giselle, sitting in the waiting chair. Of course, he needed to thank her for what she had done to his boss.

"Excuse me, if I may ask, I was talking to Miss—"

Giselle, who was sitting at that time, stood up and answered. "Giselle," she responded politely.

"I'm Robin. Assistant to Mr. Leonardo. We'd better meet him inside. I'm sure you'll want to thank him for the help that Miss Giselle has given him today."

"Just say hello, sir," said Giselle. "The important thing is that Mr. Leonardo's condition has improved. I apologize profusely for not being able to meet him now. My lecture class will start in 10 minutes."

Robin nodded knowingly, then let Giselle walk away from the hospital. After the woman left, she immediately entered the room to approach Leonardo, who was still lying weakly.

"Sir..." Robin immediately approached. Bowing respectfully as he spoke. "I am pleased that your condition is fine," he said, relieved. Of course, Robin didn't want anything to happen to his boss.

"Maybe today I'm still lucky," he said softly. "The doctor said, this is all thanks to the first aid I got. By the way, who helped me?" From the look on his face, Leonardo looked very curious.

"Her name is Giselle," said Robin. "She is a Masters student who got the opportunity to take pictures and receive the book that Mr signed during the seminar earlier. The lady conveyed her apologies for not being able to meet Mr because she had to rush to class."

In a lying position, Leonardo nodded slowly. But it's not Leonardo's name if he owes gratitude to others who have contributed to his life.

"Then find out who Miss is and what her background is. Later, after I'm discharged from the hospital, please invite her to meet me at the main office."

Robin agreed to Leonardo's request. So far, before entering into business agreements, Leonardo often asked himself first to check the track records of the people they would work with. That's why it's easy for Robin to find information and investigate someone's background.

"I will look for the information for you. I will submit it in the near future."

"Are you okay, Dad?"

Leonardo Massen turned his head toward the infirmary door. There, he found Xavier, his son, who looked so worried.

Previously, the young man was chairing a meeting in the office. However, his activities stopped when he received news that his father had suddenly been rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack. Of course, this worried him, and he immediately went to the hospital.

"This time maybe Papa is fine. But I don't know what will happen tomorrow," he said slowly.

"What are you saying?" asked Xavier with a tone of protest. "Xavier is sure Papa will always be fine."

Leonardo smiled faintly. He was waving his hand carefully—cue for the son to approach the position that was lying down weakly.

"Papa is old, Xavier. You know how sick Papa is. Besides, how long are you going to put off Papa's request to get married soon?"

This is not the first time Leonardo has urged Xavier Massen, his only son, to get married. Since his health had deteriorated in the last few months, he kept asking his son to end his bachelor's period immediately.

Leonardo was only afraid that he would not have the chance to witness Xavier getting married for the rest of his life. Not to mention that his son has been too focused on taking care of so much work. He never showed any women let alone introduced them. Xavier belongs to the class of handsome men and, of course, very well-off.

This made Leonardo worry. He was afraid that Xavier, who he was so proud of, would have sexual disorientation because he had never had sex with any woman.

"Dad's just afraid that—"

"I'm gay?" interrupted the son without hesitation, as if he could read what was on his father's mind. "Xavier is normal, Pa. Xavier still likes girls. So you don't have to think about things."

"But how long are you going to be single? Do you need Papa to find you a future wife?"

"Pa..." Xavier immediately sighed lazily. He got tired of always being asked the same thing every time. "Why should we rush to get married when Xavier's career is as good as it is now?"

"Because Papa doesn't have much time. That's why Papa forces you to get married soon. If you really don't have time to find a future wife, let Papa help find it for you."

Xavier stared closely at his father's face. There was a begging look etched on the middle-aged man's face. So far, in his life, Xavier has never once contradicted his father's orders or requests. He is well aware of when he was born in this world, and everything has been arranged in such a way, including the affairs of a life partner.

"If Xavier gets married, will Papa promise to take better care of his health?" Xavier's face looked serious.

He is willing to do anything as long as his father is happy. Even though he often acts cold and even a little temperamental, when it comes to family matters, it can be said that Leonardo and Agnes' happiness is everything to Xavier.

"Of course," Leonardo answered without hesitation.

"Okay." Xavier nodded briefly. "Please arrange as you wish Papa. Xavier is sure, the woman that Papa chooses is the best of the best."

Xavier, of course, was unaware that this answer would eventually change his whole life. In contrast to Leonardo, the middle-aged man smiled happily. That means he no longer needs to worry about marriage. Now, it's his turn to find a suitable wife for his son.
