Chapter 5 we meet again

Chapter 5 we meet again

After Lesley had breakfast at Vins' mansion, he headed for work.

"Good morning," He replied to the numerous greetings as he walked past.

"We would use my office for the meeting," He said to Clara as soon as he got to his office.

"Bring them in once they get here, and Ms Clark?"

"Yes sir?"

"Take this to the Finance manager, she needs to be here during the meeting," Lesley said, handing her a copy of some pamphlet.

"Sir the investors are here," Lesley heard Clara say in the telephone.

"Bring them in," Lesley told her.

"Mr Vin," One of the investors said as he shook Lesley's hand firmly.

"The pleasure is mine. Gentlemen please let's get started," Lesley said and pointed towards the arranged chairs that rounded a table.

He was about to call his secretary to ask why Ms lex hadn't shown up yet before the door clicked open and Ms lex walked in as a lady held the door open for her holding her handbag and some documents.

Lesley's heart skipped. It was her. It was the same lady he had searched for weeks. How did he not know she worked with Ms lex all these while. He watched her walk in.

She was putting on a blue dress that stopped just above her knees and hugged her body perfectly. The dress did wonders to her shape.

Her hair was Left unpacked as it fell beautifully .

As she walked closer inside the room, some strands would try to cover her face to which she would carefully shift them away.

Lesley wished he would do that for her. When their eyes met, she quickly looked away.

His hands were sweating again.

"Sir, your mother said she would join the meeting. She is on her way here," Clara told Lesley, bringing him back to the moment.

He didn't even realize she was in the room already. He needs to get his act together, Lesley cautioned himself trying to focus.

"Okay. We would wait for her."

Immediately Ms Vin arrived, the meeting began in earnest. Nick was also present. Lesley had to use the whole strength he had not to deviate from the discussion to thinking about Sofia.

After the meeting which went successful, Lesley watched their new business partner leave and was left with his mum, Ms lex, Emily, Clara and Sofia.

He tried so hard to get her to at least look at him but she wouldn't. She was glued to the document she held, glancing through them over and again. Lesley was sure she wasn't searching for anything in particular but just flipping through it to pass time.

"I hope you like my daughter, sir," Ms Lex said, breaking his thoughts and smiling like a schoolgirl in love.

"Of course he does. Can you believe they had been friends before Emily travelled out of the country?"Ms Vin said before Lesley could say anything.

"I really do hope things would work between you two.You are a perfect match..."

Ms lex was still talking when the door opened and Emily walked in looking super hot.

"Oh there she is!"

"Mom! Ms Vin! I hope the meeting went well?"

Emily said, hugging the two ladies. Lesley all these while couldn't find his voice. Everything happened so fast. And why in the world would it be now and in front of the lady he had developed some sort of crush for.

"I will be in my office if you need me sir," Clara excused herself to leave. She was already getting pissed off with the childish show Ms lex was putting up.

"Likewise me, Ms lex, I would be in the office,"

Sofia said to Ms lex who only waved her off and continued to speak to her daughter.

Lesley watched Sofia walk out of his office. He wished there was a reason for her to stay longer. He enjoyed watching her expressions. He wanted to see her some more and had a great urge to follow her but restricted himself knowing fully well that would be stupid.

"Please Ms lex, if you don't mind, I have work to do,"He said in a bid to dismiss them.

"Mom please let's talk later,"

"Alright son. See you soon."

They all dispersed leaving only Emily and Lesley in the office.

"Are you angry? My mom can be like that sometimes when she's happy," Emily explained.

Lesley shrugged, "It's all right."

"Okay. Maybe we could have lunch later and maybe talk over it. How about that?"

"I'm not exactly sure how free I would be by lunch time. I would be pretty occupied but let's see. "

"Okay then. I'd wait for your call," Emily said.

She gave Lesley a peck before she turned and walked out.

Lesley wasn't sure how to reciprocate Emily's peck. He stood mute and only heard the door closed behind her.

He tried to dig himself into work after Emily Left but just couldn't do much work. He picked his telephone.

"Call the finance manager. I need her to bring to me the balanced account of the just concluded deal now," He told Clara.

Lesley knew what he was doing. He won't be needing the account book at least not until some days later. He hoped his plan would work. He knew Ms lex won't come to his office by herself but will send her secretary which is exactly what he wanted.

"Ms lex's secretary is here,"

"Send her in."

He stood up. walked to the window and turned his back against the door. He heard the door click open but maintained his position.

"Sir, this is the account book you requested from Ms lex."

Her voice was soothing and felt so good to the ears. He turned to face her but still kept a serious face. He walked to where she stood and meant to collect the document from her but as soon as he saw she left her hold on the book, he purposely left it making the book fall to the floor.

"I'm sorry. I thought..."

She bent to pick the book. Lesley bent down too. He watched her expression and noticed she avoided his gaze.

She handed them to him after picking them up.

Lesley took them but held her back as she tried to turn to leave. She shivered at his touch. Lesley noticed and wondered if she thought about him like he did.

"The coffee wound still hurts,"He said still holding her.

"I'm really sorry sir. I was at fault and I didn't mean to...."

"You can make it up to me," Lesley interrupted.

"How?" This time she looked up to Lesley, meeting his eyes briefly.

"Have dinner with me tonight."

"I can't"

"why?"

"Errrrrrm,I would be busy with ..."

"Work would be done by then"

"I know. It's just at home. I have to make dinner for my family."

"I would help you do that or make people do it for you"

Lesley said hoping he won't have to persuade her for too long.

"I wouldn't want to be a bother, sir"

"Call me Lesley."

"I work for you and you are my boss, my CEO. I can't possibly call you by your name. it isn't proper."

Lesley was quiet. Never in his entire life would he have believed a lady would turn him down. He wasn't used to begging Ladies and wasn't sure he ever asked a lady out in the first place. His last relationship had actually been initiated by the ladies.

He could use force but that wasn't him. He might be rich and powerful but definitely not an inconsiderate devil.

Besides, he wouldn't want to make her hate him.

"Maybe..." Sofia started. Lesley brought himself back to the moment.

"Maybe I can make time"

"So that means a yes?" Lesley asked with a blunt of hope in his eyes.

Sofia nodded.

"I don't want you to do that. Say it."

"Yes," she said shyly, folding her palms and unfolding them repeatedly.

"Good, Please drop your mobile number with my secretary. I will reach you with it."

Lesley said and slowly left her hand. Sofia turned and began to walk out. She felt Lesley's eyes on her as she walked. She wished she would just disappear instantly.

Lesley smiled as he watched her leave. He noticed how nervous she was earlier and looked innocent.

He loved the way she behaved shyly before him. It made his heart tingle. The texture of her hands refused to leave his mind. Soft and smooth.

The face of Emily flashed in his head and made him momentarily forget his fantasy.

He really didn't think whatever his mother was planning or had already planned with him and Emily would work. He might have liked her but that was in the past.

He might just have to find a way to tell Emily without hurting her feelings or anything.

He dug himself back to work remembering his lunch date with Emily.
