Micheal's POV
I couldn't believe I married a child in an adult's body. It's really insulting. I'll be the heir soon and this childish lady is all I get? I just couldn't stand the fact that marriage has to be a criteria to be the heir of my father's empire.
"Aren't we supposed to be in the bedroom together?" Her voice interrupted my thoughts and that pissed me off even more. It was practically like I was thrown into hell and not a honeymoon. I wasn't feeling anything, I was numb and void of love towards her. At the altar, earlier, I just had to keep the role of a good son and marry the person I don't even know just to become the heir.
I smiled, because I knew too well I'll be given that position over anyone else. Father has promised I only have to marry her, just for the world to know that I got married.
"No, I will be sleeping on the couch in the sitting room. I've got a long day tomorrow, and the best thing you could do for me right now is to leave me alone and go to sleep." I poured out my anger on her. I'm sure my face would have told her to just do as I've said.
"Can I at least know my husband's name?" She ran forward to me and held my hand. I release myself from her grip as her charm that looked like a kid's was getting on me.
"Sleep well." I turned away from her and made my way to the room, it was utmostly beautiful to have her out of my sight. I could no longer pretend I was okay with her being around. I saw her face, it was awfully , and sorrow filled. How is that my problem? Her father got her into it. My brother should be the one taking this position but father insisted I had it.
I had a bath in the shower before I headed to sleep, I could hear some muffled noise in the bedroom, and I really hoped she wasn't crying. It'll piss me off even more. I walked closer and my newly wedded wife was crying at the mirror stand like a new born child.
"No tears in the house." I said, and she raised her head up, looked at me and wiped her tears off before saying,
"I wasn't crying, just wondering why you wouldn't want to touch me. Is it some kind of ritual? I definitely understand. I promise." I looked at her after she uttered those words and I walked away to get my sleep.
------------
The morning was favorable to my skin as I stood up to embrace the path it has shown to me. I was going to be announced as the president in a few hours, so I had my bath and dressed up ready to leave the house. She ran out of the kitchen, in a haste, breathing like she was being chased by a bear, at least that should do the explanation she wasn't needed in the house.
"Wait! You haven't had your breakfast, I prepared something nice for you, it's Spag Pepperoni, trust me, you'd love it." I stared at her furiously,
"Really, are we doing this again? Can you not see that I'm off to work?"
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't watch you leave without food, it's our first morning together."
"Doesn't actually mean anything to me." I murmured, still enduring the sight of her standing and looking helpless.
"Oh! it should, we are married now. And whatever issues it is, you can share with me and If it looks like I've offended you......."
"Shut up! Just leave and let me concentrate on going to work already." I cut her off before she made me feel guilty. The truth is, I do not actually feel anything, I feel okay hating her because she wasn't supposed to be mine. I shouldn't have married her. And now I have to face her like a plague. I swiftly walked out of the house before she thought of getting me to eat.
"Bye, have a fun day." I could hear her scream through her lungs, I ignored and got in the car, drove off without looking back. My phone rang, and it was plainly obvious the whole workers were waiting for me to show up.
It wasn't really that hard since I was able to turn off her words. It almost became heavy on me, I love someone else, and thank goodness she understands what I was trying to do.
To produce a better future for us both. I'd rather be with Ebony than that trash I married as a wife.
With guts I entered the company, everyone had their heads low and bowed down to me. I smiled and waved to them in return,
"This way, sir. Your father awaits." George, my father's speaker, escorted me to the room. I will be declared the sole owner of the company. Every shareholder sat comfortably, waiting for me to give the news that I was married. I saw the pictures of Her and me, clearly shown on the project and the videos made that looked like a movie.
"I have waited a long time for this day, people I've seen my son marry and take his rightful place. So, I hope we all know what's next to do.'
"And how are we sure they love each other?"
My father laughed at the question,
"You don't have to see them sleep with each other before you believe my son is married. it's literally written all over the show displayed." he argued.
"Alright, we announce him as the sole owner of this property without damage and bless him with good health to lead us."
"And you should know, a bad marriage consumes one till there's nothing left, the company has to be in good hands."
"My son is in good hands." I silently watched them all contemplate on what to do and when to put me in. My father struggled enough to build this and it was time for me to give them not so much, but a lot. I kept in all of my words and had to stay put till the meeting ended. Everyone now recognized me as the president. I was extremely filled with Joy and excitement. I have finally done it.
"How's your wife doing? What are you both up to?"
"Nothing, father."
"Nothing? What do you mean nothing? You should be doing everything together." He whispered in my ears as to not create a scene among everyone.
"What's her name?"
"You don't know your wife's name? Michael, are you insane? You should treat her right. We are nothing compared to her father. Is that understood?"
"I get it, now, what's her name?"
"Liz, Liz Baxter, that's your wife's name. Thank God I'm a very good friend of Baxter, he will ruin our company before we know it. Don't mess things up for me.”
